The rotten wisdom tooth paid off big time today. I fed hot beet pulp mashes and didn't have to walk more than 20 feet!!! Chores are suddenly fun again. The husband of a good friend of mine is a licensed somethinorother and did the installation. He also installed new outlets at each of the pony stalls, because the bucket heaters and lights on one switch were too much and were shutting down the whole barn. Lights, hot water... heck, I could live out there now!

Here is my new favorite barn accessory:

That's awesome, Suzanne! Now Sassy will have one more reason to think she's special (which she is, of course). I bet those lucky horses will enjoy warm baths in the summer as much as you'll enjoy the warm water being right there in the winter, too.

turning pea green here LOL with envy. Do enjoy that hot water. I am sure you could fit a cot and small kitchenette in there somewhere

I think EVERY barn should have HOT and cold running water. Mine doesn't, but hoping my next one does.

Since we built the new barn last winter all I keep hearing about is we need a water heater in the barn So for Christmas I got my wife her water heater! I know not everyone gets one for Christmas. Now I'm gonna hace to hook it up too!

Not having hot water in the barn is almost uncivilized anymore. I don't know what I would do without it. Your horses are going to love, love, love you when it's time for baths again.

Isn't that fantastic?

I am so happy for you!!!! YIP YIP YIP!!!!

Mine didn't get hooked up yet and probably won't know till spring, but that's ok with me actually because my barn is insullated and so far the water hasn't frozen!

I have taken out just one large bucket of warm water so far just to add to their buckets a little bit but it wasn't really necessary.

So YIP YIP YIP for us both!
