Good morning everyone, one more day closer and yesterday was a great day. The insurance in already taken care of so one less hurdle to cross. I leave this morning to Connecticutt to deliver Lucky to his new owner, something I am very happy about. Actually selling Lucky is what made me realize that this property is meant to be. His new owners don't even know this. Lucky has been for sale for over a year with several lookers but no takers. Since we had decided to buy this farm, he was no longer for sale, I would just keep him to drive myself. But I kept asking for a sign that I was doing the right thing with the farm. Then two days after I made up my mind to keep Lucky, I got the email from Courtney. We emailed a couple of times and then I asked her to have her mother call me. I figured that would be the end of it, most times the parents never know what the kids are doing. But 20 minutes later I get a call and it was Courtney's mom. We talked about 45 minutes and I knew that was my sign, they are going to be the perfect home for Lucky. The one he has been waiting a year to get. Ever since that day, the process with the farm has been so smooth. Not one single problem. Now that doesn't mean there won't be but the closer it gets the better it looks. Now not only will I have my perfect new home, so does Lucky. I think his name says it all. We have both been blessed. And it does break my heart to see him go, he was our first real show horse. But he isn't being used like he should be and he loves, actually thrives on work. So I know in my heart its right. Audie let me know too.
So to answer your questions Jane, yes when you go out the back door of the house you are in the barn. I can go feed without getting dressed. I don't have cameras up yet, but that is in the near future. But since I won't be foaling any mares, I will have one to see the outside pastures and a couple inside just in case I need to watch a horse. And it has just under 5 very flat, very useful acres. And a first for me, a Koi pond with a fountain. Plus access to 7 miles of trails for driving around a huge park lake. Again I have been blessed and I know Audie has alot to do with it all. And I plan to give back as much as I can. I have plenty of room for clinics, play days, things like that. Its finally my chance to give back to alot of the people that have been so good to me.
And kaykay, come be my neighbor, I would love that LOL.
Well I am off to send Lucky into his new life. One that I know is going to make him a very happy horse. And my first trip that far up north, I am excited. Oh yes, Tate is going with me, LOL trips wouldn't be any fun without him.
