ARrrrr!!!!!!

How am I gonna keep him quiet for 7-10 days????? HE can run, jump or play to much.

Well That means him and MItzy have to have seperate play times. Well.................NOw they are both crying there heads off as they wanna play together.

Jack also has a bald patch on his leg from clipping, and he has a big cone on his head?

Any Ideas to help keep him quiet and me sane?

I don't have much advice other than keeping him in his crate during his down time. You probably won't remain sane so no point trying

I will say it is only the first couple days that he needs to be quiet just keep an eye on the suture area as long as it is nice and clean not swelling or red then he is doing fine.....puppies heal quick...oh and watch your shins those lampshades can be murder

I agree with Rori and I've not been successful yet keeping a puppy quiet

. I do take off those collars because unless the pup won't leave the sutures alone there really isn't a need for them and just makes them miserable. I have quite a collection of them in varying sizes. They make great protectors for young plants in the spring.

Glad Jack did well at his "coming off" party

He will be back to his exhuberant puppy self in no time, if he isn't already.

Willy had been tutored/dis en jingled...the day we picked him up and he was completely healed in 10 days he was in good shape by day 3 and there was NO I mean NO stopping him from jumping on the furniture/bed etc.....

One word- sedation!!

Will not harm, not just for ten days (actually, a week usually does it) and it is for his own good. Ace or Valium work fine on a dog (obviously with Vet approval) and it makes your life so much easier. For the record, I had to keep my ******* quiet, hence the sedation (for the first one, the second one was doing limited Agility at two weeks!!)

The dog I was actually told to treat as normal- he was never "hooded" and licked himself constantly, so I am a bit surprised at your Vets advice, I just had the dog up on the bed at night so I could hear if he got into the stitches but he never did. He was back doing Agility at two weeks also- I took out the stitches at five days, they were fine.

I do wonder how much the Vets say to cover themselves, and how much is actually needed. Keep a dog quiet yet, for the exact same op, work a horse ten minutes a day!!

As I said, my Vet said no aftercare for the dog, take the stitches out when I was happy with them, let him be himself, so I did. He swelled ALARMINGLY. I was TERRIFIED!! Then, at three days, it went away like magic and he was completely healed!

I have been trying to call some family and friends to see if they will watch Mitzy for a week, as it isnt to easy to roate kennel time.

I let him run what little he does, but do dont get to jump.

He doesnt have stiches, his incission is about 1/4" long. He is on pain meds till tommorow morning.

He has the cone on his head because he was bother his stiches. He only needs it 3-5 days. He was de-jingle belled on Thursday.
