Most of you know that Dave and I moved just a little over a month ago I guess. It was a super long process for us, and one that seemed like it was never going to end. It was so stressful, I started to doubt if we were doing the right thing, and started second guessing our choices. Moving this time was THE worst! It seemed like every time I turned around, something was going wrong. Then when we finally got here, the sellers movers where not out yet, so Dave parked our U-haul on the road close to the side. They are redoing the road, and the gravel gave way, our U-haul was pulled into the rut.........almost tipping!
We've had time to settle in now, and though we've been so busy with work, we've found some time to realize just why we bought this place. For me, it's the simple things.
The below is a pileated woodpecker, and for those who may never have had the opportunity to see one of these big birds, they are so cool, especially when you see them flying! They are about 16"-19" long!
This is my back yard, right off our patio. It's what we see everytime we look out the window. This pic was taken opening day of deer hunting! These two 6 pointers came strolling in together, bumping their racks together as if they were wrestling! That same morning we also had our 3 little doe show up too! Dave was so mad he had decided at last minute not to get a deer tag!!! These two haven't shown themselves since, so we figure someone got them that day.
An early morning fall sunrise from our front patio.
These three little doe have been living around our area. We hadn't seen them since deer hunting, and thought they were gone too. This pic was taken today when they came in to our back yard. I had opened the patio door to say "good morning girls", and got their attention.
Thank you for taking the time to share our little piece of heaven!
