LOL thay are beautiful. Brings back memories of past Shih Tzu litters I had. One mom had 8 puppies and I was afraid she wouldn't have enough milk. But she did. Too much milk. At about 3 weeks I began to realize that the pups weren't moving around like they should and when I'd hold them they wheeze a bit and their chests looked flat instead of rounded. Took them to the vets and he said they were soooooo fat they couldn't move. In fact, they were so fat that their chests really had flattened out and was interfering with their breathing. I had to pick them up every two hours and roll them in my hands trying to get their very flexible ribs more rounded and them put them on their sides to sleep. This went on for another week till they finally decided to start moving on their own. Now talk about FAT puppies!

One other memoriable litter....one morning I was sitting on the floor delivering puppies when a friend called and told me to turn on the TV. It was Sept 11th 9/11 I'm sitting there with tears streaming down my face with squeeling puppies in my lap. Will never forget it.

I understand that...I have mine on egg crate from the time they are born....It really helps their chests...also they get so strong from climbing over the little hills..lol Being so fat is not good as it can also cause swimmers...where they look like little seals with flippers...I find the egg crate helps that also...I just walked by the pen and saw all 5 spread out on their backs and just had to take their pictures...I can't even imagine how many puppy pictures I must have...I love showing them to my husband and his wonderful caring reply...Yea yea thats good...lol
