Hi.

Am new to L'il Beginnings and new to the mini world. I have recently decided to take up driving my recently acquired mini horses and looking for someone to share thoughts. Anyone out there interested? My black and white is a 5 year old 38 1/2 inch gelding--who needs training. We also have a darling barely 35 inch solid black gelding who took amish kids to school and is patiently teaching us how to get this done.

We have no plans to show or breed--we just want to love them. This is a family project. Thanks for your time--hope to hear from someone!

Hey Linda,

Here is the picture you sent me of the new boy last week. I will teach you how to post pics if you like,

Hello,

I figured It was time to post since my picture ended up here! I've enjoyed reading thru all the infomation on this site. THanks to everyone! :aktion033:

I'll see if I can post another picture of the cart and harness.

I'm open for suggestions on my harness and cart fit. I've made some adjustments already, brought the breeching and the breast collar up a little. Since these pictures where taken.

I'm hoping this cart will be ok but it was purchased for our 43" shetland orginally.

Leeana,

Would you please teach me how to post pictures too?? :bgrin I tried from a yahoo photo page but it didn't work when I tried to preview this post.

thank you,

Jayme

Hi Jayme

I'm guessing your Linda's Daughter? Hi, its nice to meet you lol.

Posting pics-

I suggest you sign up for a www.photobucket.com account as its so much easier that way and im not sure if it works the same way through yahoo. After you make your account log into photobucket and click browse. Find the pic you want and upload it (takes about 5 minutes w/ dialup per pic). After it uploads there should be a box below the pic that says IMG, click on or highlight that link and 'copy' it. Paist it here and it should be good.

The yahoo link doesnt work (just tried it). Most people use photobucket on here bc its easier. If you need more help im always on here. I just saved the pic you posted and uploaded it to my photobucket account and here it is:

The miniature horse forum gets more people through it. Maybe you could repost the pics there and you should get tons of imput and compliments. I wish fairview had those carts when we bought ours lol.

Hi Leeana,

Nice to meet you too! :bgrin

Thanks for putting up the pic. I'll look into photobucket.

I've looked at your web site and you have some very nice ponies too! Good luck in your showing career!

Maybe I'll repost on the miniature horse forum once I get pictures since the adjustments. I'm also curious what type of collars (breast or neck) are most popular for fun driving not the show ring, what is easiest for the Mini. So I'll have to check out that forum too.

Thanks again,

Jayme

I would post on the main miniature forum about the breast collars. I think in general there all the same buy vary brand to brand.

I'm just so excited to be getting more mini and pony people up here. Allot of farms around here are Quarter Horse or big horse farms, its nice to have someone else close by who shares the love for the little ones.

Just wanted to add, i think that other little pinto pony you have is just the most adorable thing

I'll try to post on the other message board when I get some new pictures.

I'm meeting several other pony drivers from Ohio, they maybe forming a local driving group, just to get together and do a few group drives. I'll let you know if your interested, when I find out more.

Maybe we can get a few Ohio people from this forum interested too. Of course All will be welcome to join, don't have to be from Ohio only.

Do you use a neck collar or breast collar when driving your mini?

Little Jack- the pinto- he's a character hopefully we'll have him pulling a cart in the spring too. To bad it is so muddy and sloppy out, its making it hard to get much of anything done at the barn. Ohio Weather arrrghh!!

As Leeana said, this should be on the mini board, as you will get more replys. This board is for ponies like the shetlands and welsh etc, etc. Welcome though :saludando:

That would be a neat group. Let me know if you want some help contacting some people from Ohio, i knew a few on this forum and a few through email who i know would love to join.

You should join BMHC, they do parades, shows, trail drives ext (BMHC =Buckeye Miniature Horse Club). www.BuckeyeMiniatureHorseClub.com <not 100% that is the link though.

If you get the club together let me know
