Hehe, I actually was going to get a VERY nice little colt, but due to the fact that he was a "gilding" in EVERY e-mail, and there were several... I decided not to get him.

No pictures in the pastor, but I was thinking about testing him to see if he was Mosygosis for color ( I SWEAR I SAW IT SPELLED THIS WAY ON THE SALES LIST A FEW YEARS AGO!!) :new_shocked:

Christine! Gosh, ya just gotta luv ya! Excellent thread folks!

I will bite...

Speaking of Borders, sometimes we have those here to fold out. Boy, if they have those glass eyed babies, you know they are all blind, and need to be killed...and they ain't no good if they can't roll completely over..

:bgrin :bgrin :bgrin

Gotta ask.....how many you get to a litter? (someone did ask me!)

O My Goodness, I LOVE THIS thread! I know exactly what each one of you is talking about and I had a good belly laugh!

I think I would be worried if someone claimed to have a gilded filly colt! Definitely would not be interested in that one. LOL

Yep...a Tricolour gilded paint stud colt, good confirmation, homogeneous (which is actually correct, just unusual and reminded me of milk

Big horse foals - are COLTS all of them. When I talk to big horse folks I have to remember that too, or they don't know what I'm talking about and I have to ask them "stud colt" or "filly" when they talk about theirs.

"Worm - wormed" is also a slang term used in this area - used frequently by all. The other stuff..............

I've seen it too.

Wouldn't this thread be a great way to start a little "Book of Horse Slang", get someone to draw a few cartoon photos.

Just too funny! :aktion033:

It is funny what you can find in the ads although I have been guilty many times of using incorrects terms when talking to non horsey people just because it is easier for them...such as colt. Many people think that is what a young horse is called and I have even seen kids books that say that so I try to keep that in mind. But I did one time see an ad where they had abbreviated words and they were proudly advertising......book now for special price to this beautiful homo paint stud. I had to wonder if he'd even know what to do with a mare :new_shocked:
