One year I did similar gift baskets with tea, cocoa, popcorn etc. I went to good will and bought a ton of baskets. I spray painted them all gold put the goods in and wrapped with red cello and a ribbon! It was very cute.

Sometimes you can find cute decorated containers for cheep at the dollar stores.

I have used an antique crock bean pot, canning jars, glass canisters, flower pots, tea kettle or tea pot, tea cup with saucer (fill the cup and saucer with tea bags and then cello wrap, glass pitcher, glass bowl, cute little purse, evening bag or old lady's type purse with a pair of white gloves draped over the top, little pail, hat, that's all I can come up with at the moment. Go to an antique store with reasonable prices or Good Will and just look around and let your imagination go. Let us know what you end up doing. I need more ideas !!

I cruise the thrift stores for pretty single tea cup and saucer sets. They can be had for a few dollars sometimes and then I fill them with florists foam and fresh flowers for hostess gifts. If I wanted to add something to it like teabags I think I'd make little holders out of wire. A straight wire with some multiple loops to hold the tea bags amongst the flowers. Just a random thought

What about those round wooden craft boxes? I think you can even get them in the craft section at Walmart. You could spray paint them gold and tie red or green ribbons on them? Actually, they'd even be attractive unpainted with ribbons

Or painted w/ some wooden (flat like cookie cutter) ornaments glued to them.

Mountain Waif, can I get on your Christmas list? I'm a biiiiig tea drinker!

I think that's a really good idea for a gift and there have been lots of good suggestions for something to put them in. Personally, I like the canning jar idea. That way the recipient can keep the tea bags in there to keep them fresh. And the lids can be decorated attractively with a bow tied around.

And you can get canning jars from little to big.

p.s. do you need my address???????
