Hi! Yes! Just had my first SockIt baby!! It's a BOY!!!!!!!!!!

I think he's a bay with the socks just like his daddy... Dancer had him REALLY fast! She "just" had him about 20 minutes ago... She WAS not showing the sings like she was about to foal... She was due April 7th... I knew she was going to go soon, but didn't think this soon... I "almost" missed it!! I will get pictures of them tomorrow... She still needs to loose her placenta and baby still needs to nurse... SO I will be watching very closely! I'm SO excited!!

Congrats Chesa!

I had pulled up her cam and she was standing there munching away, was checking emails etc for a few (probably 10-15 minutes after I pulled up the cam) and when I looked back she was down and pushing! He looks sooo tiny! But he's sure got the hang of his legs! can't wait to see photos!

Hi Everyone... Dancer passed her placenta... now waiting/watching for the baby to nurse(hopefully) before I have to go intervein... I hope they get it figured out... a bit chilly out so put a fleecy on him... I worked all day today (thus wearing my lovely bandana hat! lol)... I'm glad she waited til' evening... Boy... she's going to be VERY protective of her baby!! Hopefully she will let him nurse!

Ugh... this is going to be a long night... Dancer's getting better... even though she LOVES her baby... she is very touchy back there and so I'm having to go out there and hold her while the baby figures out the nursing thing... I did see he's trying to run around... so I know (and he's also been given 20 cc's of colostrum, Many thanks to Gina to help with milking Dancer and help me get started with her)... It's been a VERY LONG time since I foaled out a maiden mare... so have been spoiled with these pro mares that have done it a ton of times... Dancer's VERY nervous... This guy is strong and is quite the trouper. He sure is a little bitty fart though! I haven't even thought about names yeT!

I'll think about that later after I know mom is letting him nurse... will be a LONG night for me!
