I'm very sad to say we lost our only mini horse foal we were expecting this year. This was my favorite mare (a leopard appy) and her first foal. Aborted at 10 months and it was tangled up. 3 feet wanting to come out at the same time. We found her in the morning trying to push it out. Who knows how long she had been like that.
The good news is so far my mare is doing fine.
The first report from the local lab where we took the foal said the kidneys were liquified. They've sent more tissue out to see if we can learn more about what might have happened.
Congrats to everyone having babies .
