Is there anything I can do to help eas it? I already went last night and cleaned my house almost spotless, includeing the floors. The dog hair is driving me nuts more then it ever has. I can handle the tinyest of peices anywhere.

I have had a few other things happen, but now I just cant sit still and have the shakes.

How long does it normally take to past through it all?

I know they're probably all on vacation today, but this is a question I feel you should ask your doctor...

My doctor is in, they wont put me through to her. They send me to a nurse who I just keep getting the machine. I have called 3 times today getting nowhere. They knew I was out last week and they were supposed to call in a script for them, well they didnt, finally I got them to saturday, but it was the wrong stuff and wrong dose.

Now I have been trying all day, but they wont let me talk to my doctor and im getting roylaly peeved. I will say I love my doctor but this is it, its time to find somebody new again.

Ashley it is VERY unsafe to be cold turkey off the meds you were taking.... you MUST get thru to the DR. Tell them it is an emergency. It IS NOW AN EMERGENCY. If you cant get to talk to the DR then you need to go to the ER. I AM DEAD SERIOUS. I was a nurse that handled people with your diagnoses and your meds and you MUST get attention. Besides the hyperactivity and headaches you are experiencing you can get VERY down...dangerously so............. You need to titrate off of those meds.

Please DEMAND to talk to the doctor.

Lyn

Man, Lyn has me scared for you.

I agree w/her:

"you need to go to the ER. "

I told you that earlier...now I'm even more sure. If they won't talk to you, you need to make sure the symptoms of withdrawal don't cause you to go into some sort of physical problems that could cause worse damage.

It's ridiculous that they would be this cavalier about the sudden stopping of a medication with these serious of side effects.

I know you have to go to work, but I don't know that that is the best idea considering.

Best wishes!

Liz

Young lady, very calmly call your pharmacist. Explain the problem to them and have them call your doctor. They will explain in terms that will be listened to and probably produce the desired result.

I am not sure what you are taking and what for, but I AGREE.

When I was going off my Zoloft in October I chose to go cold turkey.................BAD IDEA. I was blacking out and would forget segments of time.

I know your probably not trying to go off from the way it sounds, but be careful, and don't black out driving or something.

I think you should call the pharmacy - get those 25 mg pills and take 2 of them at a dose till youget your 75 mg pills in

Ashley, are you ok? I have been worried ever since I read your post......I hope things got straightened out by the pharmacy for you.

I am on effexor xr 75 mg

I just got home from work. I did call again at 5 pm from work, and let me tell you I was way less then happy with them and I let them know it. Still no results. Will try again tommorow.

THe pharmacy cant do nothing I have been on the run aroudn with them, but being its a new prescript there isnt much they can do.

I am find other then a head ach, light headed and have a hard time keeping balance if I move to fast. I did try leaveing work early tonight but my forman would not let me so was stuck there till now. I just feel like at any miniute I could snap.

Ashley,

You NEED to go to the ER!!!!! They will give you the meds you need and a script until you can get an appointment to see your Doctor.

It is VERY dangerous to go cold turkey. I can not state this enough!!!!

Robin

Ashley, suddenly stopping your Effexor can cause a multiple of symptoms including seizures. I hope you are ok. I would have the local hospital page your doctor. The doc wont like it but you need your meds!

Good luck

Fran

This is a fairly heavy duty drug they have you on. I do not understand why the pharmacy is unable to help but it thats the case You will need to present yourself the the doctors office and just wait to be seen. If its just a matter of the vet writing you a new Rx for the meds they (any reasonable doctor) would correct it without even needing to see you. If you have been taking this drug for a peroid of time quitting cold turkey can have some very negative side effects. I hope you get some resolution to this problem very soon.

I think you need to call the prescribing physician immediately and tell them the dilemma.

There is a good chance that they will have some samples to tie you over.

Or perhaps switch pharmacies!!!!

This is not a drug that you want to stop cold turkey. You are not safe to drive until you get this back in your system.

I know for a fact that a pharmacy can get immediate response from a physician if you demand it... I also know that any DR worth their salt does NOT let a patient go days without an antidepresant/antipsychotic med because that can be considered malpractice. Ashley.... if how you feel is important enough for you to continue to post here then it is important enough to go to the ER or sit in the Drs office until something gets done! This isnt something to drag out and not deal with and work isnt as important as getting this fixed, you could make a really big mistake at work or driving or just living without the meds. Complaining on the board isnt going to get you the help you need unless you want to pm me with the phone #s of the pharmacy and doctor!!! I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lauralee is also a nurse and if you dont want to listen to me for whatever personal reason you might have then listen to her PLEASE!

Yes work is important, if I do not go in, I do not have a job simple as that.

I finally did get a call from somebody, however when calling back they were in with a physical so am waiting for that to be done. HOpefully shortly I should have my meds.

Not okay. Not okay at all.

I'd stop being polite. So many people try to be polite and the people who work in health care think you're doing fine and can hold on. You have to be insistent. You have to tell them your problems and insist you can't continue this way.

I agree with Lyn 100%. Not something to fool around with. Not with ANY prescription.

Someone at that doctor's office is not doing their job.

You should get the 25 mg and then take 3 to get the 75 until the doctor calls back. Tell the doctor's office that's what you're doing. If that's not what they intended, then they better be calling you back ASAP.

Please let us know how you're doing!

Ashley is this a GP....General PRactitioner type doctor or a proper psychiatrist???? I really feel in my experience as a psych nurse, reading your posts and knowing what meds you are on....that is not a medication for a general type physician to follow you with.... yes they can prescribe it but ...you need more than the Effexor to help you. I took it for a time, saw a therapist and was able to get off. As a nurse that dispensed this medication both in a facility and in a homecare situation, there are just too many side effects of it and too many bad ramifications if it is not taken correctly and .... i dont say this to scare you but to make you COMPLETELY aware, when not on it right or getting off of it without titrating down.... you can become suicidal and psychotic from not having the amount you are used to in your system.......Is there any way you can see a real psychiatrist for med followup? Please dont take this post as a critical put down... It is from personal and professional experiencial concern.

Well at this point, still cant get ahold of them, and they still are not calling me back so I give up. This is my 5th day with out it, so It has to be almost over. I dont feel so bad today, just exhausted.

I guess maybe its just a sign that I shouldnt be on it in the first place.

We will see what happens in the weeks to come, but for now, I guess im gonna try and go with out it.
