I hope this doesnt get relagated to the back porch because there are many here that dont go back there but need to hear this.

On my earlier posts about Sillouette and her filly I was at that moment feeling despondant. I have been alone here at home since the vet left and reflecting on all of this, my losses and the losses of others.

Since 2001 I have lost my eyesight, my career as a nurse, all my little chicks have flown the coup. I tell people that my life now revolves around the horses and dogs in my yard.....but thats not entirely true. My life belongs to the Lord God first......all these things that I have belong to him and I only have stewardship over them.

I felt like Job this morning minus the boils.... He lost his family, his friends, his herds of cattle....everything and his wife told him to" Curse God and die" Job could not and neither can I. These beloved horses are not mine anyway. God told me today amid my tears that He still loves me and I was losing focus of that. He said to count my mini (many) blessings and rejoice in what I do have

If this whole weekend had not occured I would never have seen the side of my husband that I did when he was trying to get that baby out friday. He is not a demonstrative person when it comes to love languages but that was the ultimate gift of love from him. That is something I will always cherish.

I am not so physically aflicted that I cant enjoy the life I have restricted tho it is.

I have been blessed with friends who have helped me achieve things with my horses that I only dreamt about before going blind.

I have been blessed with beautiful foals that have made other families as happy as they made us while they were still here.

I have decided that it isnt the end for us.... God says "my grace is sufficient for you" I will praise Him even in the hard times and not just the good ones.

When I look back over these 30 plus years I have been really blessed to only have a few losses in all that time. There are those here on the board who have suffered that much this year alone.

I still have so very much to be thankful for. You my friends here are on the top of the list!

Thanks so much for being here.

:aktion033: That's the spirit Lyn, God loves us that find a way to "Keep on Keeping on"..although he sure seems to find ways to test us lately!

Love ya,

Maxine

Lyn, I wish I was by you to give you a great big (((HUG))) there are going to be alot of good times ahead for you. I just know it, God does work in mysterious ways. Corinne

Beautifully said. :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: {{{hugs}}}

Lynn, I know we don't know each other very well but I wanted to let you know i'm here for you and I wish you only the best for the rest of this season =) I am so glad you sat down and thought about things...it's horrible when our family members (mini's too) pass out of our lives, but their memories live with us forever. =)

Lyn, I was so glad to read your last post. It is truly inspiring to me. Our Lord does see us thru trials and good times. Keep that thought and prayer in your heart always. I too, lost a mare and foal together 3 years ago. At the time I said I would never own another mare (Gracie was my only one) and never breed another foal. Well 3 months later I owned not one but 2 fillies and now 3 years later they are both in Oklahoma being bred for the first time. We just have to trust that thing will go well and pray alot. I know you are in alot of grief but it will heal in time. Take care, Sheila

Lyn you appear to be a very thoughful, caring and loving person who has learned to adjust to life as it is.

Mini blessings to you also and your meaningful life as my mother told me many time when she was alive that life is what you make it. As I recently celebrated another birthday I thought of her and what she always said and yes, my life has been blessed also with a loving husband of 46 years, our son and his wife, our grandson, all my minis, chickens, ducks, barn kitties and Heidi our loving mini dachshund. I couldn't agree with you more, life is a blessing and your family and friends the icing on the cake. I've never met you Lyn but perhaps our paths will cross some day.

You are such a strong person and definitely a source of information and strong beliefs. I am so glad they have seen you thru all your trials.

I was thinking of you as I went after the second leg on my baby last night knowing how wrong things can go in a split second.

You are our rock!

Lyn, I am so glad you have your faith to keep you strong through all you have been through. You are so right in your thoughts. Many blessings to you.

Lyn.......I was just heartsick for you when I read about Silhouette.

I have been there myself & know just how you were feeling.

But you have helped to remind us all that no matter how bad we think things are for ourselves...there are always many others who have it much worse.

We should not wallow in our grief & self pity, but rejoice in the time we we allowed to spend with our "loved ones" (whether animal or human), and praise God for all the blessings we have been given.
