My Computer Died - Any Good Deals?

Well, my Compaq Presario finally expired at the ripe old age of 10 years old... So I've just started looking for new computers. I'm pretty much sold on HP's.

Does anyone know of any good deals going on at Best Buy, Office Depot, etc?

Hay Liz.....I don't know if this will be any help to you....I know you mentioned it in your e-mail....I have a Gateway. I'm really pleased with it's performance thus far. We've had it now probably 4 years? There's lots of good deals now on computers out there, and especially for Christmas time.

I have a gateway, have had it about 8 months love it. Before I had a sony loved it too, but for the money the Gateway had lots of nice extras. I got mine at Best Buy.

Hey -- I bought 2 HPs in 2000 -- a laptop and desktop - had LOTS OF PROBLEMS with the MODEMS in them. I HATED THEM!!!

Would never buy one again.

Currently have a Dell and swear by it... (not swear at it!!)

Dell always has sales going on - online - you can even by warrantied Refurbished ones at cheaper prices.

Thanks, guys! I had no idea about the refurbished computers - very interesting!!! I'll check out the various options and prices; my last computer was a Comaq Presario, which lasted 10 years... one of the refurbished sites has really good prices on them - thanks again!
