I am really bumbed. Halloween sure isnt what it was when I was a kid. I think I got a whole 6 kids, and have a crap ton of candy to find a home for. Mya was all ready to greet them as well..

How adorable she is!!!!!!!!

It's sad that today's kids don't know Halloween like we knew it. Well how I knew it in the early 70's. It was great until the 1st threads of razor blades in apples etc. But we had parties with goodies, cupcakes and candy & games. And we went trick or treating with or without parents. Then we were not allowed to even keep the candy we brought home. Some sick people ruined it forever. I'm thankful I was lucky enough to have had a few good ones in my childhood!

We have not had trick or treaters at all for 15-20 years. I gave up buying any candy.

I guess they did have issues here last year with finding needles in the candy...........They were out like crazy early as the stores in town did trick or treating and I think none of them bothered to go out after that. Sad that I have 18 apartments in my building and not one of the kids came over (everybody that lives in them either has kids or is disabled).

Your little Mya is just as cute as a bug!!

Yes, it is almost unexpressibly SAD that the traditions of years past are being lost due to (a relative few) dangerous and hateful people...wish there were an answer, but I surely don't know one.

One thought, Ashley---down in Albuquerque, a local dentist always offers to 'buy' the trick-or-treaters''excess' candy for $1/lb., then he donates the candy to organizations that send it to our troops overseas, as a special treat...Maybe you could donate what you bought for the 'no-show' trick-or-treaters to such an organization? The Gold Star Mothers, or some such? It would be for a great cause....!

Best wishes,

Margo (who has a great-grandson about the age of your darling Mya...)

O my gosh! My grand daughter is crazy about cow-cows! Where did you find that darling costume?? She is totally cute!!

Since we've lived in the country we have't had any trick or treaters. I turn on the porch lights and hope, but nary a one. We have two neighbors now with small children, so we hoped they would come by, but no luck.

I can't believe I didn't carve a pumpkin this year!! How did that sneak up on me???

What a cutie!!! Adorable costume!!!

We go into town for trick or treating and muddled through the rain and wind! I have to say it was a good turn out dispite the weather. Not as many as normal judging from the small groups but still good. Alot of teens! But all of them polite and talkative, which kinda gives me hope! LOL!! We took my 70 yr old mom and her and I just walked slow and enjoyed looking at the houses, talking about homemade candy(wishing times were diferent so kids could experience that!). All the kids just scooted around us and most with an excuse me or a pardon me. It was a nice nite in my opinion!
