Why do they call certian shows like, National Area for AMHR, what is the difference than a regular AMHR show? I noticed that this year that there is a National Area 1 show about 2 hrs from me, I am thrilled, & am thrilled that almost all the AMHR shows this year in NY are going to be at syracuse fairgrounds, because that is the closest to me

They are like Regional shows in AQHA. They were put together for those folks in an area to bring their best stock to show, I was told because not everyone can afford or can't break away from their jobs, to go to Nationals. But that was just someone's opinion.

Someone once (when we first started to show) told it to my similar to this-----Regular AMHR show is your usual night out with friends. National Area show is the homecoming dance and the Nationals is the Senior Prom. When I look at it, that seems about right.

The AMHR/ASPC Area National Shows are single judged shows that are worth triple hall of fame and triple all-star points. They have a different required class list (more classes than some local shows) and futurity classes are offered for the Shetlands.

Our ASPC/AMHR Club of North Texas will be hosting the Area V National show in 2010. I know for our club we try to really to make if feel like a national level show with nice ring decorations and other perks.

They usually don't start posting shows until after January 1st. You can look at the AMHR website under Events. Find the show manager and contact them for the class list.
