Does anyone use listerine when neck sweating their horses? I've heard of this, but have never done it myself. Does it really work and why so different than using without listerine. Dionne

Never heard of that. I have heard of wiping the sweat off after a workout in a neoprene with either listerine or linament. Stops them from itching after.

Yes, I use glycerine and listerine in equal parts in a spray bottle and spray the areas that I want to sweat. I then work the horse, have them stand for about 20 minutes, then rinse the areas well.

It works well, with the glycerine being the drawing agent....

YES...I HAVE USED IT BUT MIXED 50/50 WITH GLYCERINE. THEN I PUT BUBBLE WRAP OR PLASTIC OVER THE NECK THEN A NECK SWEAT OVER THAT...REALLY DOES WORK GREAT. DITTO TO SUZY'S.

Being a Dental Hygienist by trade, I am just curious if the high alcohol content in the Listerine has anything to do with it as well. ?? I think of the old school method of bringing a fever down. Just a thought. Maybe I should stop thinking so hard this late at night.

Russ- the next time I see you, you better have your show clothes on and a horse at the end of your lead rope.

Maybe it's like mixing glycerine and rubbing alcohol. Kinda the same thing?

I've never used either one. Might have to give it a try!
