I took Maurice down to my computer mans shop to get him to check out what was causing it to act up yet again. He just ran a few common things to check it, nothing radical and it was ok.

When I brought it home to hook it all back up, my camera pictures won't load now out of the camera into my program. Been trying for 4 days. When I plug it back in, nothing happens. What does this always happen on a weekend?

I checked and reloaded my software, checked my plugs, new batteries and it still won't unload out of my camera to my computer.

I have had this problem once before and it turned out to be a quick fix, but I just can't remember what I did to fix it!

It's Kodak easyshare and it's not the camera, it's something with my computer that I have to do or enable, I just don't remember what it is. I'm overlooking somethink very obvious here darn it.

any ideas?

Make sure you "turn off" your anti-virus program while doing this.

Then go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"

(without the quotes)(Yes, there's

a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

See if that helps any.

Hey Marty, I am not familiar with the Kodak cameras but in my software which is Canon Zoombrowser, there is an option in the downloading menu that either takes all on the camera or just the new pictures.

I got messed up one time and could not get the pictures to download a second time then found this option and they downloaded fine.

If you already tried to download them this may be what you are up against.

Wish I knew for sure but thought I would throw that out.

Hi Marty,

I've given up on camera software altogether and I load all my pictures - hundreds to thousands of them each week - using a USB card reader. They run about $30, you plug it into the USB port at the back of your computer, put your camera's memory card into the reader's slot and it loads all of your pictures onto the computer for you. As a plus, it's also MUCH faster than taking them off your camera. Then you can use whatever program you want to edit the photos, since the Kodak software that comes with the camera really sucks.

Another thing to try, go to "My computer", click on it, look for your device (camera) click on that and see what happens. A dialog box may open up asking questions.

I keep telling you, GET WINDOWS XP. For as much money as your putting into that old OS you would have been able to buy that program months ago

Yuck - forget installing a new operating system on an old computer. For what a new tower costs these days, just get a new one! I think you can get a tower in Canada for $400 or less if you go through Dell or Gateway. Save your pennies and retire that ol' Maurice!

Nothing's working so I have to call my computer man when he opens on Monday and see if he remembers what went wrong. Thinking I need to load some plug ins or something like that for Maurice or do some adjusting in my security settings, something like that is what I think I am missing here. I remember that I had to do to download.com before to load plug ins and not sure though if that is what the problem is. Thinking I am having a conflict again with some program, but for the life of me just cannot remember. It's saying that I am not connected properly but sheesh, I'm plugged in right, have new batteries, installed, removed, re-installed a million times. Something is just hung up someplace that I am over looking here. OH darn, I hate this. I wanted to post some weekend pictures. Drat.
