My mom has started a clothing-for-tiny-dogs business and I'm doing the site, of course. However, I'm not happy with how it's set up, but I'm at a loss as to how to reorganize it and make it better. I'd really appreciate it if I could get some feedback and suggestions!

The site is http://www.chichifashions.com

Thanks so much!

Oh my, HOW CUTE! I love your little models.

I think it is nice, but is there anyway you could do seperate pages for like 2lbs, 3-4 lbs, etc? I think it would make it seem more organized (and more user-friendly). Otherwise, I think it is great!

Ditto the sizing organized into separate pages, also you might want to make the accessories a separate page as well as they don't have a "size" for the most part.

The sizing and other information might be able to be added as a link on each page rather than displayed in the page.

You might want to choose to have smaller photos that resize to larger in order to put them together in a more clean looking format? (not quite as small as thumbnails but just smaller)

I would also look for an unobtrusive background, perhaps, to add to your main page, to give it just a bit more glamorous feel since I know the little dogs and their wardrobes are so high fashion right now. *LOL*

I do think it looks great for starters and the clothes are so cute. I don't offhand know anyone w/a dog that little...oh, wait! I remember one now...gotta find out what she weighs but she's a "plus" sized little doggie so maybe she will get an outfit b/c it's fun!

:D

Just wanted to say your mom does very nice work. l bought this number for the house dog at the last show he's worn it twice and the third time l held it up for him to get into he hid under the bed.

Wow, those are sooo cute.

But there is too much on the page. I would add a background (l just don't care for the white) and add categories....sweaters, costumes, boys wear, girly fashions...and also by size. That way you are looking at what would fit your dog.

I already sent the addy to some of my friends with little dogs...

Cute stuff. We have tiny dogs some who wear clothes.. I would say yes first off way to much on one page and takes forever for us still in dialup.

Perhaps seperating into - winter wear, sports wear, dresses, costumes with one pic of each item and then the sizes it is available . That way someone can go straight to what they are looking for?

Oh I love the clothes!! Way too cute! I would seperate by sex and then an accessory page as well. This makes it much more viewable to the average browser.

Okay, I've got the new version up (still needs some fine tuning). I've separated by type of clothing, and then by size on each page. I still have to get the PayPal up - that part is the biggest pain in the butt.

I'm on dial up as well, so I know what you mean about slow loading!

All looks good except your models look like very unwilling participants. They should look happy to be wearing the outfits. Perhaps let them wear them a few times to get used to them then re take some new pics. The little cutie in the bunny outfit looks sooo embarrased to be seen in that outfit!

Jenn did you have your surgery? How are you?

First my mom had a Chiuaua that fawn color and his name was Chi-Chi. That was our first family dog and boy he didn't like anyone except my mom. He used to growl at the rest of us. :new_shocked: I also think she needs to re-think useing "chi chi fashions" because the name of the business should denote what you are peddleing (such as "Minature Horse Emporium" suggests stuff for a miniature horse). Although you will fine tune it to come up in a search, it would be so much easier to use something like "Designer Fahions for Dogs" or "Chi-Chi Dog Fashions" or "Doggy Fashions by Chi-Chi" something like that.

I would suggest now is to replace the stark white background with something pastel that is a little more gentle on the eyes such as mint green or mauve, but plain, no texture.

I would then like to suggest that your mom put a description next to each item such as fabric used and suggested uses, always use suggestions in your products; such as "durable and warm for a chilly day" etc.

It is a very cute site and I love the outfits, especially the little costumes. Good luck , you should do well with it.!!

You forgot one vital thing... a link back to the main page. That's important.

Also, resize your images to be smaller, with the option to click and view in full size. This will speed things up for those on dial up. Slice the image up in your graphics program, so it loads in ten small pieces instead of one huge piece. And add 1 pixel black borders around your images - it finishes things off and makes it look professional.

One other thing.. I'm a stickler to things lining up and looking orderly. Arrange each page in table form, so each image is aligned with the next, and the "add to cart" button is right beside the image instead of floating around somewhere. It'll look more professional.
