Me, I never put my hand in my horses mouth ever again... dentist or vet forever.

I got crunched like a carrot and lost my thumbnail and broke my thumb...

It was sooooo gross of an injury.

Even when the vet is holding the tongue and says "hey feel that", I say, naaaahhhh, I will look with a flash light, but my hands are staying out of the mouth. Lesson learned

Have to say that after experiencing the same such incident with my dog many years ago, I now scream at anyone I catch throwing sticks for my present dogs and cringe everytime I see folk throwing them for their dogs - not so easy to avoid the gnashing teeth of a frenzied dog when trying to scoop a jammed piece of stick from the roof of its mouth, let alone keeping its head pointed downwards to prevent said stick disappearing down its throat!
