New "Dry" Pics to show she really is Palomino???

Here are some dried off pics of Treasure. She is only about 7 hours old here, and has those pick eye rims, but that will darken as she ages a bit. But as for her coat color...I am still thinking palomino. I know it was hard to imagine from those wet pics where she was just SOOOO red, but do you see the palomino in her in these ones, or am I just wishful thinking??

Also, found this kind of wierd. My palomino filly last year, shares the same sire. As you can see in my original post, he has NO white markings. The dams of these fillies are unrelated...the fillies only only link to each other is sharing the same sire. Would you look at the similar face white?! They both have a wierd wide snip on their lower face, and a sad attempt at a star, which is more like swirls of hairs. Just thought it kind of wierd.

No color expert here, but I would say your little one looks very much like she's not the typical sorrel or chestnut.

I can see a different cast to her coat, which makes me agree with you about the palomino. Neat face markings, I had a mare w/a roany face marking. I was told it was a sabino characteristic. Did your stallion have any white hairs in lieu of a marking?

Awwwww she is adorable!!! I am not color expert either but she does look too golden of a cast to call a sorrel...palomino sounds great! If she does end up a different color you can update her registration in the future =)

If she is a palomino, why is her mane the color of her body? I thought palomino needed a lighter mane. I can see where it is white where her pinto markings fall...

Does pinto marking change that?

That's a good question, I was noticing her mane color too!!

Many times (well, the few times I've had palomino foals anyway,lol) I've noticed that the foal is born with mane and tail the same color as the body, and then it lightens up as it grows out, doesn't take long. She may very well be a palomino, I can't tell from the pics. Pretty girl, congratulations Mona!

Well he did have roaning, and to this day, I never did figure out if it was a "true" roan, or sabino roaning, but I have seen quite a few horses that have come down the "Buckeroo" line that were also roans, so I am assuming he was a true roan.

They will often be born this way and whiten with age. I can already see down into her mane where it is already while aling the root area.

I am no good at colors, especially the dilutes. Looks chestnut to me but I know the palamino's can be odd colors at birth. Whatever color she is........she's a doll!

I found in Bigs that the darker the mane the better the adult coat- she is definitely Palomino.

Also the link between the two foals is that they are both Splash, and this sort of marking is common in Splash, so no need to look for a link through the sire- there may be one, it may just be coincidence, why worry, you have two pretty Palomino girls!!!

Thanks for that info!! And yes, I guess that makes sense, since the dam to Goldie, and the granddam to Treasure, both have blue eyes(one has a partial blue, the other has one blue). I never tested Goldie's Mom for LWO, but I did test the granddam of Treasure, and she was LWO negative, so I assume the blue eye came from splash then.

I think she is beautiful! As far as the face markings go, she looks like she could be kin to my filly.

Although you can't see it in this picture, she also has a few sprinkles of white in her forehead (as does her mother).

We've had several palomino's born that red (one even redder) so yes most likely a palomino. Cutie pie you have there ! :aktion033:
