I don't remember if I ever gave an update after Jennifer let the cat out of the bag... but "Corky's Jez Lady" is now settled in here. She seems to like it here a lot and is now demanding to be spoiled
I figure she deserves to be spoiled, she is twenty years old and heavy in foal.
I am grateful for all of the "background story" from Lewella here and some of her previous owners. She has had quite the life!
I must say, I was not prepared for how pretty this old girl can move. She is bred to Jennifer's (Sweet Opal) AMAZING gelding, just WAIT until she has some 2008 show pictures of him to show I think she's trying to keep her 2008 show string all under wraps though
But anyway, I'm starting to get a little excited about her foal because it should really trot. She appears to be sabino and maybe overo? and she's bred to a loud tobiano so I think it's going to be a pinto foal. I don't even LIKE pintos. But hey, if it can trot, one can't be picky?
Anyway, here's the link to a short video I got of her this past week. I am liking to share these videos, they are more accurate than pictures I think. I just use the video option on my old digital camera, not great but better than nothing. I am hoping more people start posting videos here, not just pictures.
Maybe more people can see how a Modern Shetland actually MOVES naturally, too. This mare is 20, in foal, and barefoot (if not a little foundered in the past at some point.) And I still think she moves so pretty. Thanks for looking.
