Today I started with conditioning and training for the upcoming show season. I am going to take two horses out this year. It is a big undertaking for me, but I am so pumped about it! I am hoping to go to shows in all three registries: A, R, and Pinto Worlds! We will see, however, how well I do at saving up $ to do all of those shows! lol It may actually come down to showing in one registry! lol But, anyway, a day at a time!

Here they are from last Oct at AMHA Worlds -

I just worked on my website today and some of the pics are looking a bit strange, like the program didn't want to accept the photo size

, but maybe you can get an idea of my show kids for 2009!

I just hope I can have them looking good!!!

They are both beautiful! Isn't it just so excited when you get to start prepping them agian? I just started working on a few today too that are going to Indiana in April for an R show..so much to do, so little time.

Boy that would be great - but we're expecting another 4-6 inches of snow!!

I would REALLY love to be getting the kids ready, but can't really do anything for another 2 months

We have about a foot of snow...in some areas about 5"..all the way up to about a foot, i put them out on a lunge line (not a roundpen as i always fear they will split and get a leg or something under the panel)..but i put them out on the lunge line and oh gosh what a workout for them, take advantage of this snow while it lasts. A good 5 minutes out on the line in this is the best work out they will ever get.

Oh I started today hear to, I have lots of time but I always seem to get behind!

Gorgeous horses!! Be sure to let us know how you do!

Thank you guys for your kind words!

I will keep you posted

It is sure fun to get started, but it is a lonnnnnnng process, isn't it!! Now, I just need to get exercising as much as my horses will and I would be all set! lol

best way to get fit is to take the horses on a lead and go jogging....particularly if you've got a foot of nice snow to jog through.

Not even thinking of working horses here yet; not only do we have 18-20 inches of snow on the level, but it's almost 40 below this morning and IMO you'd have to be a complete whack job to be out doing anything with horses in this kind of weather, especially if you don't have an indoor arena to work in! No indoor arena and no whack job here, so no working horses yet.

Our first show isn't until the first week of June, so we have time to get ready yet.

Your horses are beautiful! I'm jealous that you can start training/conditioning already!

I'm stuck too, probably another two months (at LEAST!) before I can start really getting them back in shape. My neighbors have an outdoor ring they let me use but I know part of the fence got taken down in the ice storm a few weeks ago. This is going to be difficult because my show season starts earlier than last year's, and usually we still have snow on he ground until late April, sometimes May!!!! (I can't clip until the end of April, and I have to make sure I have blankets even then.) Oh, New Hampshire!

Right now we have a foot with a few 2 foot high drifts and we're expecting more snow tomorrow.
