Has anyone looked at the prices lately? Come on now.. cost of material going up give me a break.. there isnt that much material in making these carts...

the new prices for a MINI CART... over 3300.00 :new_shocked: :new_shocked: :new_shocked:

Guess they opened up the market for others to come in and sell reasonable decent carts

I am shocked at the more then double in price will be interesting to see how long it takes them to realize they arent going to fly off the shelves...

Guess those with older ones now know they have gold in there hands

Jerald mini cart

Yep Lisa I noticed this too about two days ago, got on the site, and was like oh new site, pretty...........looked at Prices and for an open wheeled mini cart it's almost 4K.......they are going to price themselves out of business IMO

Wow l bought my daughters 3 years ago and l paid 2600 Canadian funds that included the cart cover but at these new prices l would have to think 3 times making them closer to a small fortune for a few shows a year. They are real pretty though and you can pick them out in any lineup.

I noticed that too after I saw Houghton was closed I looked at Jeralds prices, and OMG I didn't want to pay for that.

Contact Boinky here on the forum. She makes show carts and she is currently making one for me and I'm getting exactly what I wanted that I wanted in the Jerald only it costs less then $1000!!! :aktion033:

I was browsing carts the other day too and since I had not really priced them in several years did'nt notice the price increase, but did notice the high price tag. My preference only but I don't like the mini carts with the leathery type of buckets/bags ....I prefer the wooden look. I'm looking at a beautiful wooden country pleasure cart from Peaque and it runs for just under $1,000.00.

We just recently bought a new show cart from Graber and I love it! It was very reasonably priced, $1000.00 included the cover. The striping job on it is very professional, and I received my cart in a month. It also looks very nice in the show arena, I would buy another from them if I needed one.

I'm feeling sick just thinking that I sold my Graber show cart for $500 about 3-4 years ago. It had only been used a handful of times. I paid $750 when I bought it brand new. I loved that cart, but wasn't showing so thought it didn't make sense for it to be collecting dust. I regret it now.

minih-Did you buy yours directly from Graber?

That's the same price as before I think, only now they are INCLUDING all the options like the patent dash with rein rail ($250), natural finish ($150), stirrups have always been an additional $117, covers are $330 minimum....At least they are finally including all that in the price instead of pretending it's lower then hitting you with add-ons!

I agree that it's insane. Graber carts are very nice and MUUUUUCH cheaper, plus their wooden wheels for ADS are not $1,020 with chrome hubs! :new_shocked: (You've got to be kidding me on that one, you can buy a cart for as much as those wheels. ) I just bought a show cart from Prime Design for $1,350 including covers, stirrups, any stain I wanted, and shipping. Boinky's carts are very nice from what I've heard and quite reasonably priced, Grabers are good...there are alternatives out there and I think now you will start to see them in the ring. This could be a good thing in the end as it brings more diversity and room for "something different" to our shows.

Here again I want to have my cake and eat it, too...

If Boinky's cart could also work for CDE I'd jump on it (I've spoken with her, and she's looking into it. It's a great looking cart at a very reasonable price, and she is so responsive to inquiries.

I think that it's utterly ridiculous to have to invest in a veritable carriage house just to compete in various activities.

I'd like a cart stylish enough for breed shows, traditional enough for ADS (dressage, etc.), with removable basket for roadster, sturdy enough for marathon and trail driving, and with a back rest for my achy back. Finally, interchangable seats for 1 or 2 people.

Looks like Boinky may get VERY BUSY?!!! Utterly ridiculous and yes it certainly does open the market for a competitor or two to come in and do quite well!! <hint, hint> What is this world coming to? Do they think they are the only place now to get a show cart, so just charge what you want? I think not.

Just edited to ask: Any site for Graber?

Graber is Amish and doesn't have a website, but I think they've got several distributors. Kateland Farms sells them I know....

I posted while ago....what happened to it?

minih-Did you buy yours directly from Graber?
Yes, I did.

Any site for Graber?
No, they do not have a website, but I do have his telephone number at home, I am currently at work at the moment but will post it later when I get home. They will send you all kinds of information upon request. I think Prime Design sells Grabers and you can see some pics there.

Wooooo!!!! That is crazy on the new price tag!!! I have a Houghton and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! With Houghton now out of the game, it sounds to me like if I ever need another show cart, the 2nd one will be a Graber...

Yeah it's Friday afternoon and I am home! :cheeky-smiley-006:

Here is Lester Graber's addy and phone number

Wow, I just bought my Jerald for $2300, it was the last one they had in stock at the store, after that they said the prices were going up.

Is it just me?

It drives me nuts when someone wants to sell a product from their website, but provide only a single, tiny, often blurry photo or two. It's such a simple thing to crunch a nice, large photo down to under 20k that there is really no excuse. Before I can buy anything, I have to stare at it and glean every last detail...especially on a major purchase. I also want as much technical info as possible.

I certainly understand that the Amish son't do this, but for those acting as selling agents, it's ridiculous.

And for those who think people will call or email if they want more info, you're losing potential sales...if they don't want to sell their product, far be it for me to force it out of them, LOL! I'll look elsewhere.

I must say I was equally stunned when I recently went to Jerald's new site! :new_shocked: :new_shocked:

However, once I started playing with the tick boxes for all the options, I managed to get the price down to $1710. That's without a cover. Total with cover is $2105. Somewhat more than I paid when I bought mine, and of course add a massive shipping bill to get it down to the bottom of the world!!! :bgrin
