Savannah is going to spend the night at the vets. He said it is so swollen he can't tell what and how much is involved. He's hopeful we can save her eye but until the swelling goes down we can't do much. He gave her some steroids today, anti-inflammatories and some antibiotics. Poor baby. She's such a little trooper. When she was 2, she went through colic surgery and came out with flying colors. Seems she's always the one at the vets.

We appreciate all the kind thoughts and prayers. Can never have too much of the prayers.

This is what it looked like this morning. ICK!

Oh minimule, I am so sorry it looks like that today. I hope it will do down though here soon, so the vet can get her all better. I will continue praying for her though.

OMG, that looks soooo bad. I am a pessimist through and through, and think it would be nothing short of a miracle if she never lost that eye or at least the sight. That poor baby. Still sending prayers for her.

Wowwee! :new_shocked: That poor angel. I am glad she is going to the Vet's. I hope he can get the swelling down and save her eye. She is so pretty! Is she a show horse? Please keep us updated. Hugs to you both.

Ooh, that does look much worse. I'm hoping that it looks much worse than it actually is, and I sure hope it isn't as painful as it looks!

Prayers sent for her speedy recovery!!

That does look pretty rough, Shawna! You have her where she needs to be, though-under the vet's care--and in looking at the photo, gruesome as it is, I have hope that what is seen is extreme swelling of the inside of the lid, and that 'under' that, the eye will be saveable...little mare has my prayers and heartfelt thoughts for a good outcome, for sure!

Best wishes,

Margo

Oh poor little Savannah!!! That is terrible!!! I am sending prayers and healing wishes her way and hugs to you Shawna.

It's good she's with the vet. The pain must be incredible. Is he using the srops that numb? I had this once (not as bad as your baby) and we used those drops alot. Sending light and help.

The poor poor girl!!! Please don't be surprised if she comes home blind in that eye, but at least she'll be coming home!

Your vet is probably the best place for her right now, but I'm sure you are fussing and worried.........Hang in there........and let us know how it goes.

Thanks everyone! I'm really hoping she doesn't loose it but right now it's hard to say. She's a tough little booger.

Yes, she was a show horse. Not so much halter but she loved to do the obstacles and was extremely cute doing them. She is only 29".

I believe in miracles and the power of prayer so I really appreciate all the help you guys are sending. Thank you from both of us.

This is her:

: That poor little girl, that sure looks nasty. Hopefully she will still have her eyesight...

That really icky part that you see is her inner eyelid swollen and protruding and I bet underneath is a good eye and it will heal up for her! Have you shown the vet your original pictures? Lots of prayers headed her way!!!!

I am praying for her speedy recovery. I'm glad she is at the vets.

Beth
