I kept this underwraps until I knew for sure it was going to happen. We have adopted a 10 mos old baby girl. Her name is Lucielle. The adoption was final yesterday at 4:30pm and she's now living with us. YIPPEE!! My friends and family told me I was nuts. But she's absolutely adorable. She doesn't cry much and is very active and curious. It's definitely going to be an adjustment that's for sure. She has actully slept through the nights both Monday & Tuesday. We've converted part of our family room into a nursery. So she has her own room. It worked out great. My sons are very excited too. They spend lots of time playing with her. And altho she's adopted our pastor said she looks an awful lot like my hubby. I would have to say I agree. Anyway, I thought I'd share my good news. Below are pictures of our little Lucielle! :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033:

Gotcha! But we DID adopt her. Lucielle is a rescued potbellied pig. I'm NOT that crazy!! I'll stick with baby piggies...I'll wait for grandchildren!!! She's absolutely precious. We haven't weighed her yet. When she's lifted up she screams. But she is overweight. She's on a diet, poor thing! I can see how people overfeed their piggies, she's the cutest little beggar. She breaks your heart. She's completely housebroken and is living in our house. She's made herself quite to home. She's like having another dog...but she's a lot more curious!!!! They compare having a potbellied pig to that of a 3 yr old who never gets any older. Well, thanks for letting me share!! I'm sure their will be lots more pictures!!

OMG... too funny! Congratulations and enjoy her.

I am with Ashley though her weight looks good and if she is only 10 months she still has another year or so of growing before she reaches mature size.......our pig is 3 and he was on the young pig diet until he was 2....he probably weighs 75lbs or more..but he is a little pig...they are very dense.....

our pig gets to spend the day out in the barn he has his straw pile and roots about in the dirt he gets a smidgen of hay and 2 1/2 cups of active adult potbelly food...every evening he comes in to go to bed and gets a piece of bread.....

I love her she is darling :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033:

She is wonderful!!!! She looks like one I had in 90-95 her name was peaches....she lived in our barn but the little barrow (thats a gelded boy) lived in the house and was house broken too! Much easier than a dog and much cleaner...also much smarter..... Spot was black with a white spot on his nose. My youngest daughter Amy taught him tricks for the talent show at school! He would do anything for popcorn. he weighed 35 pounds... Peaches weighed 80 pounds pregnant with 10 babies. We rehomed them when we moved to a house with all haard wood floors. They slipped too much. Spot could hold it almost 20 hours!

: Your girl is adorable!

So cute. She doesn't look to overweight to me. We adopted a pig almost 2 years ago. She was a baby and weighed 7lbs. Had her spayed and a week later over 10lbs. She is now about 150lbs, looks very much like your little girl. She live in our house when she wants, is potty trained and usually very happy.

One warning. They are terrific at opening the fridge and helping themselves, or at least taking all the shelves out. We now how hasp on all the fridgerators.

We feed pot bellied pig food. She gets one cup a day and lots of vegetables(usually scraps, like potatoe peels, celery, carrots, etc).

Congrats on your new addition and don't forget pigs are the 5th smartest animals.
