Our Christmas Tree

We never really put up a tree and it just drives my crazy!!

Well today mom asked if we were going to put up a tree this morning and of course, i couldn't help it. She never really ask's but this year she did so i couldnt pass it up. I said yes and i was happy to see she got the 6ft one out ..not the sad little 3ft one

. I let mom put it up because i just dont have the christmas tree skills here ..just decorating skills. Then i ran over to Wal-Mart (

) and bought some decorations for it since all we had was ordaments. I got some beads, this teal colored stuff that wrapsa round it and some cute little silver ordaments. Mom's are all antique so she insisted we put some on it.

Here it is ..i want so badly to bring all the boys in and get a picture of them standing beside it. I might have to put that 3ft one up in the barn ...they would probaly eat it

Now, if you want to, why not continue this spirit in the house and bake some cookies too? OH heck, get a wreath on the door too if you dare!

By the way, your mom's oranments may be old and not so pretty like some of ours, but do ask her about their origin. That should really make her happy. I do tell the kids about our old ornaments that I treasure so they will know why I keep them. Memories. Many have a story behind them. I do hope you visited my Christmas page and that will explain a lot.

Having a tree up makes the Holiday if you ask me! I think I remember that Angel on top of you tree. I'll have to show my Mom but I think we had one just like it!! I wonder if she still has it.......???

Leeana, You have a beautiful tree and you look very happy in your picture with it. Antique ornaments are wonderful additions to the christmas season, I have some that are over 100 years old, and some are even made of just tinsel, each ornament has a special meaning from a family member so many years ago, in my case they came from Germany, when I was young no one in our family wanted the "old stuff" so I took it, now today everyone would love to have them. I do think you should go and continue decorating the barn, heck--put up yor 3'tree and make little bows from your twine, make a twine wreath, and definitely do bake some christmas cookies, and maybe even some treats for your horses. Thanks Guys, i couldn't find tinsel at walmart ..they only had the ugly green kind. Who use's Green Tinsel ..? But i am going to try to get her to put up some of them singing santa's that i just love ...have to dig them out of the garage tommarow!
