She's so wiggly and sweet and cuddly that it's nearly impossible to get a good picture of her. I went out first thing this morning before the baby woke up to visit her and she was so happy to see me! She's confined indoors for a few days until she gets to know us a little better, then she can become a "big dog" like the others and be outside 24/7.

She's 8 weeks old and I'd guess between 15 and 20 lbs.

I know some aren't familiar with the breed, so here's some info on them ... http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/maremmasheepdog.htm

We had a Maremma dog for a few years. He was a great guardian. He lived with the herd. The only problem was that at kidding time he took a couple of the babies to clean and take care of. He was ok as soon as we put them back with mom he left them alone. I don't know if he thought the doe wasn't cleaning them well enough or what.

: Oh, Jenn, she is just precious! Congrats. I love the wiggly picture!

She is so beautiful!

Now that we've brought Ella, the quasi-LGD, into our lives, we are hooked on big dogs (not that we love the tinies any less...) and plan on adding a Pyrenees, Maremma or Kuvacz in the future.
