I had a very interesting phone call earlier this evening from a friend of mine with news of her own new foal, and that she had been talking with a mutual friend, Jaime to tell her about our "mystery colt" and how we didn't know the mare was in foal, etc.... Jaime's reply to Eve solved our dilemna when she said that we DID breed Honey to Naked (our Buckeroo grandson (you were right, Lyn)), and that she was here when we did it! Well how stupid do you think I feel right about now?!?!

I guess my husband was right. He figured that what happened was that we started breeding Honey at the time that our other colt injured his eye and subsequently had it removed. All of our attention was focussed on him, and Sid decided that we would not do any more breeding, but just concentrate on the colt. So either I forgot to write down the breeding date, or simply didn't do it because maybe she was early in her cycle and I didn't think she would catch. I just don't know!
The important thing is that we now know for a fact who the sire is, so now I can go ahead and file a late stallion report, etc., to get our new boy registered. I turned him and his mom out today for a while, and couldn't take my eyes off him! With those beautiful long legs and fluid movement, he's a definite show prospect!!
