Whitney, I agree on the spin. You need to watch and listen carefully all the time not just at election time. People try to catch up on issues and information all at once. That can be very bad because then there is all of the left this and right that cheap shots that we are seeing now. It makes it hard for people to make an informed decision.

Take the site you posted on the other thread. Upon entering the site the first thing I noticed (and I am sure that's what they want everyone to notice) is John McCain's picture is not straight like the rest of the pictures. A lot of websites use little things like that, I also noticed that there were little videos on the candidates pages. McCain's had a video that was making fun of him and his wife on the view. Obama's had a video of two "redneck" type actors talking bad about Ron Paul. See, not fair and balanced but biased.

If you watch and listen closely to what these candidates say and do I am confident that you will be able to make the right decision for yourself.

Fran thanks for the information. At this point I really don't believe what either candidate states as they are trying to get the popular vote and win an election say one thing do something else when they get in office. Thats why once again I will ask

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SITE THAT LISTS LEGISLATION/VERBAGE AND THE CANDIDATES VOTE?

Thank you, I'm off to do some research

YEP this is what I've been looking for.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!

O M G how ignorant is this whole thing , blaming the dems and letting Bush and his republicans go free. Guess we didnt have ANY deficit before the dems got into Congress? Bush actually balanced the budget? Talk about turning a blind eye and putting your head in the sand.

There were 6 years of Republican spending ya know. What about all of that? Or is that just not there in you republicans eyes?

Oh Horse Pee can you point out where you got your quotes from? And wondering, since you 'quoted' Obamas quip on drugs, why didnt you put on Bush's statement about his own Cocaine and Whiskey Addiction?

I don't see where everyone is blaming Bush for the HUGE deficit...actually it appears that the Republicans want to blame it all on the Democratic Congress

Isn't our President in charge to take care of this country or are you saying he hasn't been in charge and instead Congress is holding all the cards.

:DOH! Who in heck was it that wanted this war to go on and on? If Bush isn't to blame for the trouble our country is in what difference is it going to make who gets in as President....after all, I am hearing it is Congress that has been in charge and done all the damage
default_no.gif
I just don't get it....we vote a person in to run our country but then there are those of you that say it is Congress doing all the harm

Haven't you heard Bush say that the buck stops with him so why shouldn't he take responsibility for what has happened? This is one sick country and it will take more than just a war monger and everyday "mom" to set it right. Wish there was a person who could see the problems for what they are and then put them to work on this mess.

Why is EVERYBODY blaming Presidnt bush for the HUGE deficit..do your research on when it all started and the roll of our NOW democratic congress!

Ahhh so when he was up for election last time, then his statement about HIS cocaine and whiskey addiction was quoted by one of you Republicans? Bet somehow that was forgotten. I know, do as I say, not as I do Democrats. So what if our President was a Cocaine and Whiskey addict, he is already in office so we can forget that.

Buckskin Gal, when people are married to their Political party, they will spin whatever to fit how they want things seen. When Bush was up for re-election people were saying that he hadnt been in office long enough to have any policies on the economy come to fruition. Now suddenly the Dems are able to get their economic stuff in really fast and are all at fault for the woes now. Not that Bush balanced a budget AT ALL or didnt alreayd have a HUGE deficit and borrowing trillions from the Chinese. Nope, cant see that. What I woudlnt give to have a Republican Congress now. Wonder who they would blame?

Well, Pepi I got my quotes from here QUOTES . I didn't want to quote Bush. If I had I would have wanted to quote a Bush it would have been Laura Bush "The President of the United States of America is more than a man, or a woman as I hope the case will sometime be. The President is the most visible symbol of our country, of its heart and its values and its leadership in the world." Surely sounds like she was talking about McCain and Palin back then also. :DOH! She must be psychic!

And on top of that look how some Republicans believe they are the party that takes care of themslves! What I am seeing is those big bankers and loan companies helping themselves to our tax money! They seem to think nothing of blowing our tax dollars with bad business practices but think it would be horrible if some of those tax dollars were put toward a health plan for all to benefit from. Greedy people is what makes our taxes so high and so wasted. Why do they think they should be bailed out while people go without necessities? I would much rather see that trillion or so dollars going for health care than to rich business men who didn't care about running their business in the black....they just knew Bush would see that they were protected/bailed . Makes me ill.

It makes me truly sad that some of the same folks who expect American citizens to be able to pull themselves up by their bootstraps don't expect the same of our American businesses, and some of those people who are hesitant to add more to social programs don't see any issue with bailing out these companies.

Those companies gave monies to Obama......... just sayin'.

From http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/na...0,4818879.story

"Employees of the government-sponsored firms, which own or guarantee half of the nation's mortgages, have donated almost $4.3 million to federal elected officials and their various campaign committees since 2005."

"Obama is the largest individual recipient at about $112,000, federal campaign finance reports show.

One reason Obama has collected the most is that he has raised far more than any other federal candidate, $390 million so far. The mortgage money has not influenced Obama's stands, a campaign aide said.

The candidate has "consistently supported stepped-up regulation for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to ensure that instead of rewarding speculators who relied on the government to reap massive profits, taxpayers and struggling homeowners are protected," the aide said."

"Republican nominee John McCain has taken $16,400 from Freddie and Fannie employees since 2005. McCain campaign manager Rick Davis is past president of the Homeownership Alliance, an advocacy group whose members included Freddie and Fannie. In that role, he defended the companies against increased regulation.

Obama's running mate, Joe Biden, took just one donation, for $500, from one Freddie employee."

The companies themselves have not contributed anything to the campaigns-only their employees.

He cooked the books for Fannie Mae.....made millions...now Obama top adviser.

Can you discribe specific how Obama, who vote Democrats 97% of the time ( the party that has been in power in the House and Senate for the last two years) will bring change?
