Thank you, but all those names/numbers Stephanie gave are like latin to me...I'm looking at a colt by the stud Reeces Dark Thunder, and didn't know what he looked like...The breeders (of colt) said he looked like his daddy and grandsire....since I'm new to this I didn't know if this was " good breeding" or not...sounded kind of fishy since they have the colt listed for only $550 and say he's 'show quality"...

I would hate for anyone to think there was anything "fishy" about it. Price does not always negate quality.

I bought an entire herd of horses last year from a dear, sick friend, and had more babies than I had ever planned for. I was trying to offer good horses, at reasonable prices to avoid auction sales.

Yes...Tracy did send pictures to me of the sire.....Just leary of buying again off the internet after I got "took" on my mini Cookie....but all turned out well 'cause he is a great kids pony. Having no information on 'lines' in the mini's just wanted to be sure this was what I wanted...Thanks...

I don't know anything about this particular colt, but I couldn't agree more with this statement. A high price does not necessarily mean a high quality and a low price does not necessarily mean low quality.

Same wtih pedigree. Outstanding pedigree does not necessarily mean outstanding foal and lack of pedigree does not necessarily mean poor quality foal.

Every horse needs to be judged on its own.
