Just thought I would share a pic to. THis is actually my uncles llama but we have had her here at the farm since she was a day old. IM not exactly sure how old she is now, but do know she is way to friendly. Spook was raised on the bottle and well, is now like every bottle baby.

She currently lives with 2 goats. A laumuncha and a fainter. She is pictured here with my cousin. We took her with to our xmas parade last week.

I was gonna take pics of some of the other stuff around the farm, but forgot my cammera, and since the snow melted its a bit on the muddy side anyway.

I've never really liked Llamas, but Spook sure looks like a sweet one. I bet she was a hit in the parade

I would love a llama, but my husband doesn't like them, so no go.

He did say I could have a mini donkey, though, which surprised me.

Spook is adorable!

We have a female cria that will be 6 months next week (She was born in May) and she's much taller than your little one. Your's must be a number of weeks younger.

Well I for one will say that I am NOT a llama fan really at all. But I sure do like Spook. I think she has been my favorite so far. We had 3 bottle babies this year, we sold the other 2 and she is the only one left.

And yes she was, considering it was a big city parade and you could tell they were city folk. Some didnt even know what she was.

She's adorable!! I am really thinking that I may want one of these guys one day!!! Lori

She looked kinda goofy at chore time tonight. IT was like she had her head in a snow bank. Her whole chin was all wet and the hair was spiked everywhere.

This has to be the first weekend/time that when at my aunts I didnt do anything.

I went there this morn, fed everybody, caught the excapee who was in a different pen, laid around all day as I still dont feel right, and then I went back out cleaned my horses pens, fed again and came home.

We are NOT Llama breeders, but we have one pair here and they are in with our minis as guard animals.....We try to keep them in with whatever group we feel is the most vulnerable.

Consequently we get one little cria per year and we treat them very much like the minis.

We try to be there for the birth (although "Minnie" tends to try to be sneakie) and we do all the navel dousing and the imprinting, etc.....

I think because we pull Mom and baby into a stall and imprint, all of our little llamas have been extremely human oriented -- MUCH more than the parents.

So, for folks who want a llama baby, I'd recommend getting one from a smaller "breeder". The parents we have came from a big breeder who doesn't do a lot of hands on work with their babies or adults......which is fairly common, from what I've seen.

Just thought I'd throw that out as a suggestion......

I THINK what was meant was La Mancha. This is a dairy goat which has tiny or almost non-existent ears. Have often thought they might be a good breed for this part of Montana, especially since goats tend to kid in February and March, and that time of year out here is usually VERY cold!

Many of the local ranchers have the ears and tails frozen on the calves which come when it is bitterly cold.

Yes Suzi is right. Sorry I messed that one up bit tired lately.

This is what they look like. I personally find them kinda ugly but they are very mellow and friendly.
