She is gorgeous and so grown up looking!!!

I think she figures "If I look this good at home, why I even gotta go in the ring?"

She is really something

You could explode a BOMB in front of her.. I think she would yawn..... OMG

I can't believe she actually bothered to put her ears up a couple times....

Very TOUGH cookie to photograph.

She seems to be looking and calling for her buddy Semi since she arrived back home. tugs at your heart....

Semi won't be home for a while.

Are you sure she's a grulla though? Doesn't look like it either clipped or natural, more like a lovely dark bay or some similar color. One of her parents would have to be dun.

Yep.. Lab tested... not bay

Her dam is a red dun, sire homozygous black bay.

Her dam produced a bay dun last year out of the same sire.

not sure what else she could possibly be? Her dam also tested negative for silver.

Her sire does not carrie silver.

She will look like the horse below in a few days. I just clipped her last night.

Black Duns are more commonly called Grullo (GREW-yo). This is the most rarely seen shade of the Dun gene group. Since it is a Spanish word, females are referred to as Grulla (GREW-ya) and males as Grullo. This color is caused by the Dun gene on a Black.

Grullos are generally a smoky or bluish color and can vary from light to dark. Grullos consistently have black points and usually have a dark or even black head, which is an identifying characteristic of the Grullo group. The primitive marks on Grullos are characteristically black.

Just as with all colors shades of Grullo can vary from light to dark.

I would say she looks black too.

Blacks almost always look like this after the first clip. ;)

But she sure is pretty congrats!
