Princess just received Pinto Legion of Merit Award # 415 and a request for a photo to be placed in the national Pinto magazine. The Legion of Merit requires 650 or more Pinto points (color points do not count) with the following requirements:

- 185 or more points in halter

- 400 or more points in performance

- for minis, at least 2 ROMs (35 points each) in performance events and at least 10 points in a third event

- a Register of Excellence (175 points) in one performance event

- 10 halter points and 30 performance points in a Pinto World, Regional or Jubilee Show

Princess, aka Aloha Acres Fashion By Magic (OTM Fashion By Magic in Pinto), is sired by FWF Blue Boys Magic Man and out of Fallen Ash Farms Goodbye Girl. That makes her paternal half sister to such AMHA World Champions as Aloha Henry 143 and Aloha Acres Magic Krystal, and materal half sister to Fallen Ash Scouts Thief of Hearts. Note that she is one of only 415 pintos of ALL SIZES to have won this award over the years, and she did it at the age of 5, showing in only 4 shows a year and never leaving Connecticut. We bought her as a weanling and I did all her training myself. We plan to breed her to Max's dad in the spring!!

Now I can't decide among these photos for the magazine: the first 4 were taken at Pinto Shows by Ellen Leffingwell of Photography to Remember and the last one by my husband at an ADS event. The photo will be small and there is really no standard, as you see eveything from your standard win shots to backyard photos.

Please help me to pick by telling me which number you like best for this purpose.

#1 - Halter

#2 - Head shot

#3 - Jumping

#4 - Trail in hand (the one she got the ROE in, because she started this as a yearling)

#5 - Driving

I like the action shots, #3 and #5 because it shows not only her color, but what she can do. The head shot is beautiful, too!

By the way, nice website.............you've got some outstanding horses.

She's beautiful. The photos are wonderful, however I visited your website, and I prefer her website photo......it's balanced, she is strong and elegant....lots of presence.

Thanks for the comments and compliments. Keep the votes coming - I appreciate your help with the selection.

The photo on the website is the one I used in the magazine when she got her Pinto Championship in 2006 so I wanted to use something different this time.

I like the driving pic the best. Congrats again!

I don't know Mary, I'm sure I've seen better photos of her than those! Don't you have another driving shot?

Right now I'd say the headshot, the jumping shot or the trail in hand.

P.S.-

Note that she is one of only 415 pintos of ALL SIZES to have won this award over the years, and she did it at the age of 5, showing in only 4 shows a year and never leaving Connecticut. We bought her as a weanling and I did all her training myself.
This is VERY impressive! I hadn't realized it was quite that limited or that she was quite that young. Wow.

:yeah That is one big accomplishment!!

Of the photos you have I'd either go with the head shot or the in-hand trail. The halter pic is nice but unless you can photo shop out(and I know there are people on this forum that can do it for you!

) the other horses it's too much clutter. The jumping pic is okay but not the best form.....and if you're going to publish it I think it should be a "perfect" jumping pic. I like the trail shot because it's hard to find a decent trail shot and it shows how versatile the minis are(besides, it's what she won her ROE in!). The driving shot is okay but lots of people do driving shots. Again.....big Congrats!!!
