Prayers needed for my G-Granddaughter Please!

Adding my good thoughts and prayers to the list. I pray that they figure out what is ailing little Alana. No child should have to go through such a thing.

(Forgive me for asking but I'm sure they've already checked her lead levels, right? Have they done a hair analysis, too? Just trying to think of everything possible. It sounds like such a medical mystery.)

Good morning everyone.... Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. There is no change thus far in Alana's condition today. I talked early this am with my DIL as I knew Jece needed her sleep. Any ideas

anyone has are more than welcome. Yes they did check for levels of both lead and arsenic, I believe this was one of the first things checked for. Again the only thing we are hearing is Alana's body is toxic to her. This is really scary for all of us especially her Mom and Dad.

PRAYERS COMING YOUR WAY. I KNOW THEY PROBABLY CHECKED BUT MY FUTURE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW HAS HAD FOOD ALLERGIES SINCE SHE WAS A CHILD. SHE IS VERY VERY ALLERGIC TO MSG'S. THE FOOD ADDITIVE. YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE ALL THE FOOD IT IS IN. BESIDES THIS SHE IS ALLERGIC TO MILK AND ANY TYPE OF JUICE CONCENTRATE. AND THERE ARE SO MANY SOAPS AND SHAMPOOS AND COLOGNES AND UNDERARM DEODERANT ALSO. THE MSG WHICH IS MONO SOMETHING GLUCOSOMATE IN FOODS TO PRESERVE MAKE HER HAVE SEVERE STOMACH CRAMPS AND MIGRAINE HEADACHES. SAME WITH THE OTHER STUFF.

Alana and her next older sister both have horrible food allergies. Their food is very limited in what they can eat. The Doctor's have told Larry and Jece that this goes way beyond just the food allergies. It is so hard on their parents right now. I was talking to my DIL and I may fly to Anchorage in January to help out. I just talked to Jece and she is very down right now. This has been going on for all but 5 months of Alana's life. I got to talk to Alana this am and she is her chipper self right now but wants outta there!!! It looks like she will go to her regular room sometime today. They are going to try and cut her oxygen back so they can

do the other tests on the lungs. I hadn't realized that lower part of each lung had collapsed. This is unreal for them all especially Alana.

Update on Alana

The Surgeon just came and let Jece know they have scheduled her surgery for Jan 10th. They have told them that the only thing they can do right now is supportive care. That until they know what they are dealing with and can put a name to it this is all they can do at this time. Her lungs are in pretty bad shape!

Jece said she has been off the oxygen since 5 am this morning. Her lungs are in a recovery stage today on this go around and they don't want to do the surgery now as they will have to put her on a ventilator. They are going to try and get her home for a few days prior to the surgery. They are hoping this will calm her down a little. It's getting pretty rough on her now....

Jece is hopeful they can go home for a few days this weekend sometime. I'm praying by going home this doesn't set her back. They have to do the surgery...

Gini -- another longshot, but have they tested her for iron/ferritin levels? Jeuvenile Hemochromatisis can be doubly bad when paired with an auto-immune disorder and the iron overload can cause the body to attack itself on any level where iron is held, used or processed. I pray that the doctors will find the source of this very soon and make your sweet angel better!
