I came across this site, set up by someone writing a book on Chernobyl and Wormwood Forest--this is the Gallery page, with links to photos of different aspects of Chernobyl: Wormwood Forest

This link takes you directly to the photos of the Przewalski's wild horses:Przewalski's horses at Chernobyl

It seems the horses (and other wild animals/birds) are doing okay in the area so far but I can't help but wonder what will happens several generations down the road?

I found the photos so interesting--everything is so lush and green; I just think of Chernobyl as a desolate wasteland.

There are people living in Chernobyl- they were never evacuated. We have schemes in most large industrial units where families have children over for the Summer- it is HEARTBREAKING. There is very little being done for them as everyone wants to forget it has happened and ignore all the consequences.

There is a show running on HBO about the health problems from Belarus and that Chernobyl area. They are estimating that some 6 million people have been devastated. Also showed how high the rad is there, way above safe limits and they are still telling people its ok.

I too wonder what will happen a few generations down the line with the horses.
