God Bless You for what you are doing. Last year when Charley went through Arcadia here in Florida, Paradise Ranch was hit really hard. It about drove me crazy until I knew Kristy was ok. It hit on Friday, Saturday all roads were closed, but on Sunday I was on my way with water and ice, and various food. I left there with dirty clothes that were already mildewing. Went back the next day - big request was "CHOCOLATE" and gas for the generator. No electric, no gas. They had no power for 2 weeks - it was miserable. Having spent a lot of time over there giving moral support, I know what you'll be going into. Good luck and take care.

Please tell Ann she is in my thoughts and prayers...And girl Thank You for taking charge. Please be careful....and Bless you. There will be more things needed as the days go on...when you get back home bring a list...put it on the board and maybe we can get things together from our barns by then....and shipping to her may be possible.

Please tell Ann we are thinking of her alot. We certainly wish we were closer to be able to help.

To answer questions...

I just got back from the hardware store and bought up the place - got 1 of the last 2 a/c, gas cans, fencing, shovels, hatchet, sledge hammer, water, ant killer, wasp spray, trash bags, clorox, cleaning supplies, rags, brushes, small tools, nails, light bulbs, batteries, flashlights, hammer, gloves, big water thermos, etc. I cleaned out the place...LOL!!!

Tomorrow, the grocery store!

We are going to try to go Hwy 190 to Baton Rouge, then I 10 through Baton Rouge, then I 12 to Slidell, then I 59 to Hattiesburg. We haven't heard that any of these roads are closed. We checked the websites we could find or people told me about and I called the Lafayette police and he said it was open. But if we are blocked, we will try to find another way.

Thank you all for your letters and help - it humbles me to know there are SO many wonderful mini people out there - you guys are the GREATEST!!!

I will email as many as I can when I get back and post on the forum with all the wonderful details when I get back.

Talk soon,

Monette

Monette....you are truly a "guardian angel" and I wish I lived closer so I could go with you.

Am sending my donation thru Paypal.....and LOTS OF PRAYERS.

Please let Ann know I wish I lived close enough to help....but that I am thinking of her & sending lots of love & prayers to help her thru this. I've never met Ann in person.....but we've had several 2 -3 hour long telephone conversations in the past, and she is one LOVELY lady!

The really sad part about all of this is..........for every Ann, there are hundreds of thousands more people who are suffering just as much...if not more. It's overwhelming.....unbelievable.....a tragedy so huge, that's it's hard to comprehend, even tho we've been watching the whole thing unfold on our TVs.

GOD BE WITH THEM ALL......and God Bless those who are trying to help in ANY way possible.

Monette,

May God bless you on your way!

I highly recommend that your caravan get a US almanac map from a truck stop for your trip. It will give you more info on what secondary highways you can take that may be safer.....and you may want to take a laptop to connect with the internet at truck stops to keep yourselves up to date on highway closures and fuel situations.

Please be careful and please keep in touch with someone when you can.

Will keep you and your caravan in my prayers.

MA

Monette I hope you don't mind this but, Lyn asked when you were leaving and I think a prayer vigil would be a good idea so, they are pulling out very early Sauturday morning. Everyone wake up and fall to your knees! Pray to who ever your own personal God is. In your own way, however that is. Just ask for safety and protection for everyone headed down there.

My husband and I may be following your lead here pretty soon. His 96 year old Great Great Aunt is trapped in the top of an apartment building right in the heart of all this in New Orleans. We may be heading down that way to try to get her out of a shelter when they can rescue her and bring her back here wiht us. Her and her daughter both are there. We havent' heard anything yet on there well being. We know they watched their car go under water and it is still under water.

Anyway, you be safe you guys!

Hugs and love your way!! I don't care how it sounds, I just love you all for what you are doing.

Stacy

Here is another one, I just got word tha tmy best friends husband, who is in the Air National Guard is on his way down there to help with rescue efforts. More prayers.

Hi Monette,

It really is wonderful to see not only your generosity for a friend, but so many other of the Forum Family jumping in to help. I can't imagine the devastation, it looks horrific on TV.

It is good to know Ann is at least alive and hopefully doing as well as can be expected. Bless you for going to her assistance.

Please give her our best and have a safe trip. We'll keep your caravan and Ann in our thought and prayers.

Do please check in here when you get a chance.

Stacy,

Oh please be careful! I know they are not leading any civilians in. Many of the roads leading into New Orleans are closed except to certain emergency personnel.

We are taking enough gas with us to get us to Ann's and back. I've heard there is just none to be had.

Anyway, I pray for your aunt. I hope she is safe!

I'd like to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity in helping Ann. I tell so many people what a great group of people we have on this forum. You all are kind, caring, selfless, and always willing to help with whatever. I know God will bless each one of you for anything you do for others. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you. I pray for your safety, strength, health, and many, many blessings.

Please tell Ms. Ann that her new stallion, Echo Boy, is safe and sound in my barn and enjoying himself. What a beauty! He's such a sweetheart. Give her hugs from all of us and let her know she and her farm have been in our prayers.

Lets lift one another up in prayer as well as remember all those in this devastation. Pray for our nation as a whole; leaders, soldiers, their families, and the people who are caught up in the middle of all this.

Please keep us posted and God bless you all,

God Bless you for everything you are doing. I will be praying for all of you!

*flashlights, pruners, cordless screwgun with lots of screws, work gloves, bleach, tarps, chain saw, wheelbarrels, bring already cooked food down, water drums, buckets, fence pliers, wire, boots, rope.

Minisch and Blue Water Baby...

I've got everything you listed and more - thank you for the list!

I told Ann her stallion is SAFE and in the loving hands of the Horsin Around driver's mother in that short conversation yesterday. Folks - just so you know - Ann bought that beautiful perlino stallion in Toni Reece's sale and he was coming down when the hurricane hit. The driver (I'm sorry I don't know his name) turned around and took the horse to his dear mother's house.

Ann was so relieved to hear he would be safe until they could bring him down! Thank you for your kindness!

We THINK the roads are clear all the way. We have an alternate route planned if not. I said if God can get Bibles through into communist countries in plain site, he can get us through. You guys remember those stories of faith?

I've got 7 volunteers and we are taking my van, the trailer full of stuff and a 1 ton pickup truck.

Your contributions have made this trip possible. I could not have done it without you and the precious volunteers that I'm going to work to death...HaHa!!!

I will give a FULL report when I get back - the prayers will get us there and back. I know Ann is counting the minutes...THANK YOU ALL!!!

Im glad we have Ann to focus on and pray for because the enormity of the whole tragedy is unbearable without faith in a living God! We see what is happening on tv and wish we could help them all but realistically we cant. Helping Ann is helping me to mentally cope.....Ann, even those of us who have only comunicated with you by e mail love you and care about what happens to you. God be with you and your horses big and small .We wont stop praying for you till you have put your life and your farm back together!!!!

I'm so sorry to be getting to read this so late. I've emailed and tried to call Ann earlier in the week and although I heard from all my other friends and acquaintances out that way, I never heard back from Ann.

I have thought about her a lot these last few days. She is very specail to me, someone who took time out of her day to call me on the phone when I needed help, she and Stacy Score helped me so much with my Glory when she was hurt, they are both angels in my book.

Ann you hang in there I am praying for you and all the people there going through this horrible ordeal, I wish there were more I could do, I wish I could come help I'm an expert at fencing that's for sure!

I would like to donate to help with the expense of making things right enough for Ann to get by -where's the darn link, the address?

edited for my darn spelling, if I missed something maybe you can figure it out

Debby,

Thank you for asking. I will be sure to tell Ann you are praying for her. All of the forum members have been absolutely fantastic.

I can only take checking to checking Paypal - I'm not set up for credit cards. But if you want to contribute - you can use that. My account is [email protected]

Or, as some have done - they have snail mailed money to me and told me what they were sending and I have spent that above and beyond my own contribution. You can email and let me know if you want to do that.

Whatever is left will be brought to Ann along with a list of what was given and how much. She will be FLOORED!!!

Busy day getting ready - keep everyone informed!!!

Monette
