I am leasing a couple of horses for my 4H kids to show in the up coming months. The horses will stay with me, but be shown by them. Will I be able to show the horses in the open and Amaetur classes???

I'm a long time 4H leader and to my recollection, when I leased a mare to one of my 4h kids, I had to put the mare in their name to compete in 4H shows. Maybe things have changed now, not sure.

I don't know what this would do to you as far as showing, you'd have to check that part out with someone else.

If you leave your name on and add the youth....ex it will read ... YOU and CHILD Leasee. Then you can both show it in youth and AMMY.

You can defintelly show them in open, they would just have to sign at the place where the "owner" must sign, now in amateur the horses would have to be in "your" name to show them.

I believe thats right for leasing a horse.
