Ok, what is the purpose of the two forums being seperate?(youth and main) I see youth complaining they want it to stay all horse talk, and I see adults complaining they dont want the kids off the horse topic on the main forum. Whats the point of haveing to seperate ones if they are both completely about horse topics?

Or whats the point of the youth forum if they cant talk other stuff besides horses?

How about a seperate back porch for the youth? Not to say they can't use the back porch that we have now but maybe it would be a place for them to talk about more youth orientated stuff?

Is it alright if we post our miniature horse pictures on the main forum? I saw some of our threads get moved to the youth forum with pictures of minis and I know it is a bit upsetting because we would rather it be open to everyone to see.

There is alot of bad places on the net. I would rather see the youth do a some horse related chat on the youth forum then turning them away to everything else that is out there.

I thought I saw that too, but when I looked closer, I realized what I saw was threads moved because they were about donkeys or ponies (or a combination thereof) instead of miniature horses. It was just coincidence that youth posted them.I don't think it's "us against them"

It's just a very, very clear difference of ... um ... perspective in some of the threads. Can't define it, but it's there.

For what it's worth, I would like to see youth post their pictures, etc.

However, I don't enjoy reading threads where I feel as if I'm watching a middle school cafeteria food fight with words, like French fries, being thrown at each other. Sometimes in these threads the emotions run higher than usual and everyone, it seems, walks away with a catsup stain on their forehead.

No catsup on my face. That's all I ask.

p.s. Catsup or Ketchup? You decide.

Has anyone ever thought about maybe a chat room link in conjunction with the forum?? Would be useful for emergency information and it could be monitored just like the boards. Just wondering.

We already do have a chat room which for the most part goes unused. I don't think anyone would have time to monitor it though because the times when people are on is unpredictable.

I did like Jo's suggestion that the kids should be able to have their own Back Porch, if they would want one, where they could discuss non horse-related stuff with eachother and don't want the adults sticking their noses into things and telling them what to do. Everyone should be welcome to post anywhere but we all need our favorite places to discuss silly or important things no matter what age we are.

And as for there are many other places for kids to chat, well yes, there are but why can't they have a place here too because they come here to share a common interest, our minis, just like the adults do on the Back Porch?
