Hi,

How much Equine Junior per cup, not by weight do you feed your 2006 foals? How much do you feed a yearling per cup, a 2 year old per cup? Thanks!

I do not feed it anymore as I switched to Omolene 300 instead. However it varies alot depending on foals. When I did feed it it was anywhere from 2-4 cups a feeding depending on the foal.

When I fed Equine Junior the amount I fed was dependant on the size and age of the horse. Follow the directions on the bag. Just to give you an idea of weights. A refined 29" weanling weighed in at 137#. A refined 31 1/2 " yearling weighed in at 180#. A refined 29 1/2 2 yr old colt weighed in at 175#. It depends on the animal. Then as you fed you adjust the amount up or down depending on their condition.

You might try 1 cup twice a day/weanling and see if they clean it up. The amount of hay they are eating also changes the amount. Why don't you call your county extenstion or agriculture office ans ask for help finding out how to feed. The other resource is the sales agent that sells grain to your local store.

I raised my two foals on it and they got 2 cups twice a day

Thanks, I never fed it before, was always using Omolene 300 for my foals but my 2006 mini filly has trouble digesting it so vet told me to put her on Equine Jr. I give her 1 cup twice a day right now, she isn't very big or heavy. She will be 8 months old January 13th. She cleans her pan, but is a slow eater.

i dont think there can ever be a set amount. I go by how they look and increase and decrease as needed. If they hit a growth spurt and start getting ribby or the back starts going up i increase until i see the body condition i want then i just maintain. If they were to start getting chubby then i would decrease.

IMO though one cup in the am and pm is not much. But keep in mind to always increase gradually.

Diva is a true yearling in March. She gets 4 cups am and pm

Jet is a yearling pony he gets 6 cups am and pm

Cody is a very small 5 month foal and eats about 3 cups am and pm
