I bought the focus fabric to make my mom a quilt several years ago, and finally decided to get to work this year and make her a quilt before her birthday. Also decided to include my sister in the gift, so she purchased some of the coordinating fabrics, backing and part of the batting. Then, it dawned on my, this year will be Mom's 75th birthday, so an even better time to get this done and give it to her. Her birthday is in May, so I need to get going with the quilting. I've finished the top, and plan to baste it today; so its laid out and ready for basting.

Gorgeous quilt! Your mom will love it.

I sent you a PM.

Steph

thank you. And, got it, sent a reply.

Couldn't put it in the PM, but here is a picture of the fabrics as they came.

Sorry its not a better picture, just all I had from before I cut it all up.

I done both, used patterns and just worked as I went along. I didn't have plan when I started this project, just the 3 pieces of fabric to start with. As you can see in my previous post, I had 3 pieces of wolf fabric to work with and then added a few other pieces. I added small borders to the small pics, then, I just kept rearranging til something worked.

Here's another one I just finished, no pattern, just started with some fabric sample chunks, added some yardage to have enough. Its small lap size, which is about the largest I usually go (I think this one is about 40x60").

Great job!! I love the whole creativity aspect of making a quilt! For me it's very soothing and really makes me focus.

I love your quilts. But this wolf one is extra special. She is going to be so happy to received it from her daughters and know that it was made by you.

Great job! You did a fantastic job in arranging the pieces. So pretty!

I've made a few quilts and I know that they are a lot of work. I won't even let anyone touch them. I used to hang them up but since I moved to our home that we built I have no idea where those quilts are.

Thank you, very much.

I'm sure you'll find your quilts eventually, and when you do it'll be like Christmas.

LOVE that wolf quilt! So pretty and I haven't seen anything like it before! Wish I knew how to quilt. I have a bare wall behind our couch that would be perfect for a nice pretty decorative quilt.

I too wish I knew how to do that. I love them, Chanda, and what makes gifts like those so special is that you took the time to make and personalize them.

Thank you.

Well, I'm still learning as I go, but I enjoy it. I don't have a lot of patience, to stick to small quilts, mostly lap quilts, baby quilts and then stuff like tablerunners and table toppers. Recently I started making doll quilts for my niece; don't know how many more I'll make, as I haven't given her the first few, yet, her birthday is next month.
