You know how most of the time your never considered well...hmm whats the right word, well you know in your family your not considered, well lets just say I got laughed at a lot and made fun of. Well most all of the ones who have used the words "you need to see a psychatrist your nuts" or this is my crazy sister, cousin, aunt Bonnie, well they have all come around, well no not even that they call me and say ummmmm my dog, horse, cat is acting or doing or whatever can you talk to them and find out whats going on????

I want to say no I went and got drugs so I don't hear them talk anymore, but then the animal would be paying not them so i do the reading and they then find out from vet or whatever that I was right and the problem is solved, and sometimes I get thanked but mostly not. I really really want to send them a bill.

But you know the next time I see them in person they are so uncomfortable, can't make eye contact and such that its worth it.

Family ya gotta love em! Got a call on Thanksgiving from a relative on her cat, this is someone who has been particularly vicisous but of course it would save her a lot of money to have me do it than take it to vet on holiday. She had taken it twice already to give her credit and they found nothing well kitty told me exactly where pain was and she ended up getting cat to vet and shes better, have to say this was most gratifying if you know what I mean?

As you all know I send vets tons of work I am not a replacement for one.

I have to take my little victories when I can get them!!!

Have a great evening everyone!

Gifted folks never have an easy road to travel, and rarely appreciated until late in life or after their passing. Think of all the animals and "their people" you've helped throughout the years.....and to have it come home to roost with your family is icing on the cake!

Frankly, I encourage relatives to maintain the notion that this member of the family tree is a bit askew. Lulls them into a false sense of superiority. Then, when least expected, it's great fun to be the proverbial bull in the china shop of family decorum. Locks 'em up every time.....and I'm spared of panic attacks.

Bet you'll enjoy this holiday season, Bonnie!

Bonnie I had a similar experience with relatives taking for granted that I would cover their mares for nothing.

In the end I sent them a bill, with "Sample Only" across it, so they would realise it was not real, and itemised out all that they had got for nothing.

The total bill was around $600.00 if I remember rightly, although I had not charged them anything.

I put in a letter explaining that, whilst I was OK with doing this service for them, if they were just people "off the street" as it were, this is how much it would have cost them. For each mare!!

I felt I was being undervalued, as I had just received a bill for something one of their family had done for me, and I really thought this was a chance for them to repay me- perhaps just charge me cost??

No way, I got charged market value and I was a bit miffed!!

Perhaps a little note, saying that although you are always happy to help relations, do they realise that that "reading" would have cost $X ?? and enclose one of your "reading"charge sheets.

Or would this be too heavy handed??

If they had any sort of sense at all, they should at least do SOMETHING to show their appreciation for what you've done for them. Even if they can't afford to or don't want to pay cash everyone can come up with something they could do in return for you.

Bake a pie, knit a scarf, give you some sort of nice little personal thank you.

I have a friend that is a human psychic, very well known, very good at what she does and this has been her sole source of income for 50 years. She still gets friends and family that have the same expectations that you get and her way of dealing with it is telling people (especially annoying family members) that she'd love to but it is really bad karma to do free readings, that getting something for nothing like that releases bad or negative energy. Something along those lines. They believe in her enough that they are afraid now to ask for freebies. She does give them a discount and she does barter services & goods but does nothing for free. She also got tired of being taken advantage of and being considered the "crazy psychic" in the family except when they thought she could help them.

Go with the "bad karma" "negative energy" answer and see what happens.

Don't feel bad, families are just that way, my family keeps waiting for me to "get over" my animal "obsession" and live a "normal" life hmmmmmmm, been having all kinds of animals for over 30 years so don't think I'm gettin over it and to me life wouldn't be normal without our animals

Oh Bonnie, I SO understand. Those little smirks and chuckles seem harmless enough but sheesh! This is serious stuff! Oh well, I've been thinking of you alot! You know.....how are things going? Maybe I'll give you a holler.

Good morning all,

Hey you have given me some good ideas! I am going to go with the bad karma thing and the bill.

Dinmore I am doing better looking forward to going to New Mexico with my husband and doing readings out there.

and of course excited about being with Shawna and her family she has invited us for Christmas dinner! She was also telling me I am going to be able to pick sage right from the plant!

Way to cool as the kids here say!

My husband is anxious to see her donkeys he used to have them and work them when he was a kid.

Would you all send good energy that all the planes leave and arrive on time please?
