I follow a number of horse rescues on Facebook, one of the primary ones is Another Chance 4 Horses (AC4H). They broker horses from the kill lot each week. A lot of driving horses and minis coming off the amish farms, lots of saddlebreds etc. While most the big horses go to slaughter, the minis are a hot commodity as they are used for meat for predatory animals. Ponys and minis usually bring top dollar at the kill sales. The whole thing really disgusts me, but I wont get into here, as thats not the point of my post.

This week there is a gorgeous bay registered shetland (as well as 3 or 4 minis and a couple more ponies). This is a photo of his papers http://ac4h.com/62710bo%20548.JPG and he's listed on the bottom of this page, with a link to a video. http://ac4h.com/BrokerOwned2.htm

Im actually on the lookout for a haflinger through the rescue, as their are generally 2 or 3 a week (again, mostly Amish bred horses coming through the sales) but this guy just stole my heart. Im desperately praying I can get a pony for my horse sick daughter to ride and grow with soon (once we are re-settled of course!) She shares the minis with me, but is just dying to ride. I would take this guy in a heart beat it if was at all possible. We will probably be moving in the next couple months, so really dont need another horse to worry about moving too. If anyone here might have some information on him via his papers or would be interested in maybe adopting him I would sure be grateful.

His name is Oneka's Rave Review #157532A in case you can't read it off the photo.

I would also like to know where the rescue is.

His pedigree is AWESOME. He has Spit-N-Image as his grandsire through his sire and his dam I believe was on the cover of one of the AMHR Journal's many years back. I think she was a very successful driving horse? I'm sure others will know more about her. Anyway, Oneka horses are beautiful and this one looks true to his breeding.

I know the original breeder very well. Matter of fact I will be seeing them tomorrow. I think they will be shocked! They raise very nice show quality horses, many of them driving.

Where is this horse at?

****** I made a phone call and talked to the breeder. He is out of a stallion called Randt and Rave who is now a gelding and is being shown today. He is a multiple congress champion in driving. The mare is a multiple champion driving mare in multiple classes including roadster 3 years in a row. He said this boy is bred to trot. He sold him when he was moving and needed to cut down on a few horses.
