Just reserved a nonfiction book, titled Running with Sherman, by Christopher McDougall. My wait time is two weeks but it sounds interesting and uplifting. I like uplifting! 😁

It is a modern story about a family that adopted a rescue donkey, Sherman, and eventually they ran a very tough human and donkey race. I believe it is a marathon where you run leading your donkey.

It sounds like a wonderful story so am passing it on in case you can access it at your library, if interested.

I’m fascinated by the idea but have to say that my donkey, Maddie, would be absolutely appalled if I proposed this activity. No more friendly nudges from her! 😂

What a lovely picture of you both:) Thank you for the suggestion. I will look for it. I just learned about pack mule and burro races in Colorado this year. So many races different races are offered. I have enjoyed watching the videos

I just finished the book, Running with Sherman, and really enjoyed it. It is full of humor, facts, and events. Reading it, I’d think about Maddie and how little I knew about donkeys when we got her. After 10 years, I just know slightly more than nothing. 😂 After reading this book, however, I have a better insight into their unique characteristics. 🫏

Can definitely recommend even if you do not have a donkey!

I will look for it. It sounds just what I need, a little humor in my life.😄 Thanks.
Edited: I just re read your first post. So glad you posted about the book again. I forgot about it. I just placed it on hold at the library.

Well, the library ap said I was 3rd on the list, but never got it. Checked yesterday and the book is no longer available for the ap. Do they expire? Guess I will go in to the library in person and request a copy. I wish the ap would notify me if the book is no longer available so I can make other arrangements.
