Heck if I had the room she would be in MY barn, no matter the price!!!!!!!!!

And being green doesn't mean a thing to me!!!!!! Linda B

She is beautiful!

My grand-daughter would love to have her. But I don't think my daughter wants another horse.

She is stunning! My mom Loves her! If only we were closer! What was her price(you can pm me)

I'm sorry, but a horse needs to be vetted BEFORE being purchased. Who knows what the person may have done with her in the weeks preceeding the vet check....sorry, but it just sounds VERY fishy to me.

So, when your mare was "off" on the flex test did the vet do any xrays? That's usually pretty standard when there's a questionable flex.

Lovely mare......sure wish we had the room (then of course if we did I'd still have my mare

I know I had every right to not take her back with the first owner, but I would rather her be with me than someone who does not truly want her. I personally have NEVER bought a horse pending a vet check. If I like the horse, I buy it. I will deal with any problems that come up later. These days vets are scared to pass a horse for fear of being sued by the buyer if something goes wrong anyway. My equine vet has been suede for that. I think a flexion test is an unfair test anyway. They hold the leg joints for 1 to 3 minutes and then ask the horse to trot off. Well, I think that can make a horse's foot fall asleep and make them limp. No x-rays were taken and the vet said she "Might" have calcium built up on her joints. BUT again, no x-rays were taken. She ran around like a spas that same day when we brought her home and showed no signs of being lame.

She is absolutely gorgeous! To me, 15.2 is tall enough...I'm not a 17 hand person at 5'3 & 110 lbs!!!! WOW, she'd be my choice -- I even like them "frisky"

But -- you obviously would like to be paid for her -- my last mini emptied me for a while.

Even at 5'3" and 110 you are too tall for a mini!!

She's just GORGEOUS!!!!! I think she wants to stay with you.

I think Sharon's right she wants to be with you. Animals can play on your sympathy too, had a dog that would limp when he wanted some loving but then would run around in the backyard. Think that what Cleo may have done, she loves you so much and was homesick and knew you'd come pick her up

Then again she's welcome to vacation down south at my home anytime

Well that is hardly the case across the board and there is no guarantee a vet will pick up on a problem. Some of us can do a better "vet" check than most vets anyway. If one cannot see the horse personally then sometimes it's necessary to depend on a vet check but I've rarely done them if I can inspect the horse myself.

Got to say though she's a beauty and anyone would be fortunate to have her in their barn.

big black behemouth who looked like a warmblood....she put him in training...kids rode him he did hunter shows and did well he did dressage well he was a great all rounder.....my freind moved and he just hung out..so she leased him to somone who was hunter jumper background......he loved it there and had a year with many miles and more jump experience.......the lessor had to move and he couldn't go with so he came back....................long story short it took my friend a year and a half to sell this horse....people wanted a nice quiet horse (which he was) he acted like a lunatic, girl came wanted a nice mid range hunter jumper...all of a sudden he couldn't jump and tripped over his own feet.........and on and on....my friend gave up quit advertising and decided he flat out didn't want to go............he did eventually meet the guy he had been waiting for...big cowboy kinda guy soft spoken looking for life companion for trails and a bit of farm work.......well who'd of thought....she still hears from the guy and he and the horse are best buds

A pre-purchase exam only works if you are in the same area as the horse. When buying out of state, how do you know if the vet has a clue as to what to look for? especially minis.
rolleyes.gif
I read a court transcript where a vet told the court that all minis had dwarf conformation so he passed the horse.

When I purchased one of my stallions from out of state, I did have the horse vet checked but didn't know anybody in that area so ended up using the owners vet. I was lucky, the breeders were/are very honest.
