Well the answer is really in the $. If enough people breeding minis without ASPC papers start to feel slighted and do not go to shows be it as class fillers or class winners then shows will suffer. It would then be left up to the ASPC breeders to support the local shows and I am not sure there is enough $ for them to do so on there own.

I do think it is sad that we are still tearing down the AMHR horse first it was AMHA implying they were not worth as much and surely not good enough to stand on their own and now it is our own registry telling people the same thing.

Ironic since it is the minis that bring in the majority of $ to our registry.

"I can go to an auction and say "oh look that is a arabian", "oh look at the morgan" "look at the saddlebred". "look thats definatly a walker" "that's a hackney". even poor examples of most breeds you can typically tell without even knowing anything about them."

"Chantilly Lace" - Morgan Horse National Champion Mare - This mare was named National Champion mare, then it was discovered that she was a Saddlebred.

And i'm pretty certain that the judge probably KNEW that horse was a high percentage Saddlebred. It's not hard to go to a morgan show and see the "saddlebredy morgans". I"ve been to many show's where i've questioned weather a "morgan" was really a saddlebred with forged papers. At one point it was legal to cross saddlebreds with morgans so it did change their type "some".

How many people do you suppose even in mini's do what they need to do to forge paperwork to get their horse in? A lot do it.... probalby it would surprise is all how many do. There are always cheaters out there looking to find a way to win....and when they do more people try.
