He will not palpate her b/c of her size... I got the blood drawn today and sent off.

I was looking forward to the ultrasound. *Sighs*

I got more photos of her today while she was grazing for a bit in the yard.

Is there anyone round your way with sheep...often people with enough sheep will have their own external ultrasound machine.

I have NO idea how your Vet can possible ultrasound anything at all without the wand, it just is not possible, maybe he is worried that the wand will be too big??

It isn't, but I can understand his reticence if he has not done anything this small before, it does take some skill, and you do have to respect him not wishing to do harm to her.

Blood tests are usually more accurate than urine, although it might be worth getting a Wee Foal, they are not that expensive...

I've already sent blood off. The blood test is cheaper then wee foal...even with the shipping of blood to Idaho...it was still cheaper. And easier and quicker getting the sample. I am waiting on the results of the blood test. Will post the update when I get it.

can you tell me where you shipped it? I live in ID and could maybe get tests for myself

Sent it to Moscow (SP?) Idaho.

You don't get a kit. You need a syringe, needle, and a vacutainer tube. Draw blood, put it in the tube, fill out paper, pack everything, and ship. Easy.

ETA: I think you can buy supplies from them. But I already had the needles/syringes & I got the tubes from a friend.

I just had blood work for a possible pregnancy too, came back neg. thank goodness. My ver said it was 99% accurate . It cost me 60. CHF, and 200 . for the full blood pannel. It was a huge relief to know everything was OK , and well worth the money.

That is very reasonable!!
Yes it is. Biotracking is who I'll use to test my show goat herd.

So far they have been pleasant to work with. I spoke to a nice guy through email and my mom spoke to a nice lady on the phone. So far, no complaints from me!

Not sure I trust blood tests for pregnancy. I bought a trail horse a few years ago that had a negative test. Three months later we had a big filly on the ground. The seller had blood tests done on two mares, both were negative and both had fillies.
