After more than 8 years out of the show pen, our 32" grullo stallion, Dusty Lane Vegas Bet a Buck, stepped into the show ring again. This was a IBHA sanctioned show (International Buckskin Horse Assoc) and the first time they've allowed minis to show - we had a total of 11 minis attend. In 2015, AMHA or AMHR registered minis that are buckskin, grullo or dun can be registered with IBHA.

Anyway, at the two day double judged show (two different sets of judges each day), he won his mini halter class, went on to win Grand Champion mini halter, and in the Champion of Champions class, along with 15+ big horses in each class, he took 4th under both judges the first day and 1st and 4th the second day. To say we're proud of Vegas is an understatement!

Here are our minis in the 'Dun Factor' class. Vegas won this under three judges and came in second to his daughter under one judge.

It was in Greenville, MI, at the fairgrounds there. The Great Lakes Buckskin Assoc (GLBA) sponsored the show. As always, it's a lot of fun talking to people about how wonderful minis are! Some of the big horses were afraid of the little ones, particularly when we brought out the carts, but they got used to them quickly! Classes included dun factor, halter, trail and driving specifically for minis, and we could also show in the open / non-IBHA classes. Next year they will offer IBHA classes specifically for minis registered with them.

That is really awesome that IBHA now registers Minis and it's always great to do well against the "biggies" under the "biggie" judges!!

Congratulations and he does look good, too.
