My sister's cart was stomped by a rampaging large horse several weeks ago. One wheel was smashed like an aluminum can. So she decided to order the solid rubber, large spoked wheels instead of replacing with the bicycle-tube type.

She's been out with the cart a few times and certainly noticed the more "sporty" feel of the ride! Today we drove on dirt roads for the first time since she's had the new wheels, and she could discern her horse having to work harder.

This is our first actual experience with the solid, heavy spoked wheels. (They look very good on the Jerald runabout!)

Is there something about maintainance she should know? Adjustment or lubrication?

What do you mean by "solid spoked/heavy spoked" wheels? Did she buy steel or wooden wheels instead of wire-spoked pneumatics?

It sounds like you ordered the heavy steel wheels with the hard rubber band on them......while they are not all that much heavier it is harder for the mini/pony to pull them as the surface is narrower than a pneumatic.

I hard Pneumatics on both my carts and got tired of worrrying about flats and ordered these wheels and just love them for the looks and the ride, but yes the pull is harder and you may notice a bit rougher.

Yes, that is what she got. She really likes the look of them. I just called her to see if she remembered the company but she had already thrown away the box and only had a phone number, no name.

I'm glad to know you are pleased with yours. Is there any maintainance on them? Lubricating? Adjusting?
