Just wondering about the show and how everyone did waiting for results.
Classes won't be over until late and it's a long drive home- I wouldn't expect to see anyone posting until tomorrow at the earliest. Give them a chance to write things up!

Actually classes were pretty much over by noon.

Wasn't a huge turnout in my opinion, but fun none the less.

Guiness managed to get hoof black all over himself before his classes, and I mean ALL over himself. Got most of it off. He was rotten tho, bit me a few times, just being a total brat! We took a 6th, 5th, and a no place in Model Stallions. Three 3rds in 2yr Old Halter Stallions. And two 2nd in Ammy Stallions (only two colts in the class tho...right Linda LOL). Obviously he wasn't real impressive. But I will be wrapping him and sweating him like crazy. We'll see if it makes a difference for the next show

Deb and I also had 2 brat boys at the show! Rearing and acting stupid...grrr!!

First up was our new yearling filly we bought about a week ago. Gabby was in training with Triple Heart Ranch (Syndi Kanzler) and since she measured in right at 32" was in the Under division, so since Syndi had another filly in that same class one of her helpers Chelsea took her in...and came away with a 3rd and two 1sts! On to Jr mares...a Grand and 2 reserves! Then came Champion Mares...1 Grand and 1 Reserve!

The next day was stallions and Khan was, like I said, not behaving at all. He reared in class and barely kept all 4 feet on the ground at one time! Three 3rds in his Over Yearlings class and three 1sts (Guiness was the only other horse in the class) in Ammy...

Liberty class was that afternoon and we took both boys in that class. Khan was 1st up and he while he played, bucked and looked nice out there I goofed and let him go before the music started by accident...

...and he didnt use the whole arena. He got the gate. Jet went in and right away used the whole arena, bucked, played and also looked really good...the only thing is he didnt trot as much as I thought he would (which is totally the opposite of what I thought would happen...lol). He got a 5th and two 6ths in that class!

This morning was Geldings...Jet's turn. Deb was to show him in Model 1st, but she got a case of the nerves right before the class (1st Mini show for her ever) and Jet was being a bit of a butt, so I took him in..placed three 3rds. I also took him in open where he again placed three 3rds. Then Deb decided she wanted to take him in Ammy and placed three 2nds!

We had one disappointment and that is that our filly accidently missed her Champions of Champion class this morning...It was totally understandable and we are not upset with the crew at all...things happen...NEXT TIME, right??

Unfortunately we forgot our "real" camera and only used our phones to take pics, so they turned out bad...not posting any...sorry!

I have to say tho...THANK YOU Syndi and crew for all your hard work with Gabby and for being extremely helpful to both Deb and myself!!

I *heart* my new girl so much!!

Even with some frustrations, it was a good show...always learning and always fun!

Edited to say that I mixed up the order...Khan was 1st then Gabby, then Jet! Long weekend...LOL!!

Not much to add to what Linda and Erin have said. Other then after watching Linda take Jet into his first two classes, I was glad I had chose to sit out the first class I was to show in and take him only into amateur. It let me shake off some of the nerves that I had built up and jet I think fed off of that and together we showed much better then I think either Linda or I anticipated. I truly enjoyed watching our little filly strut her stuff with Syndi's helper Chelsea in the ring. And can only thank Syndi and Chelsea for all their hard work. And a special thanks to Syndi, Lori and Sharon for all their advice to this newbie. Our friend Erin who was a great support thank you. But most of all to my wife for all of her love, support and understanding.

What I want to know is, how did you get those two bratty boys and the girl home in one trailer without mayhem??

I'm starting to feel like I was luckier than I'd even suspected with Turbo's behavior at the Seatac Classic. Yes, Mom had to pin him to the wall and hold his tail for me while I did his hooves, but he was really good in his classes if not outside the ring. For a two year old stallion at his first show he was practically an angel!

Are you guys going to Pacific Crown? I can't wait to meet your new kids! Hopefully attendance will be better at that show.

I had Gabby on one side, Jet in the middle and Khan on the other side...I also have a full hay bag for each so they are busy stuffing their faces on the trip...lol

Pacific Crown is the May show? If so, we "may" take Gabby to that one...we have to see if it works out financially since we are leaving the next saturday for vacation...and we really want to go to the Area 8 National show in June.

We had a good time at the show. Our New driving filly did well for her first show and we were pleased. Our classes were small, but the one open class we were in that had 6 horses she got 3rd's.As it turns out she had a problem with a knee that we did not find till Saturday night which accounts for some of the issues we had. Vet came out yesterday and all is well just a bump. This was our first show of the year and we got to see a lot of old friends.Had a great time.
