It's starting... ever since I saw the breed I wanted one, my current canine companion is a chow/golden cross, (Kinda like a Giant one)

I got a small chi, my dad stole him from me, and I Really Really want a companion that's small enough to Horse Show! Uggggg!

I've even started looking and asking around,....

I don't Need a dog, and prob couldn't afford the ones I end up liking Anyways..

and my poor boyfriend who only ever had a single dog growing up, (and now has *inherited* 10 horses, 1 dog, 2 cats, 4 suger gliders and 2 bunnies, that he loves but...) would Kill me.

Knock me to my senses someone! To make it worse my dad's GF thinks it be kinda cute to make Chi-Poms outta the two, Not Helping at All! I'm to busy, I have school, and a career to think about right? Right??

:aktion033: Get one, get one, GET ONE!!!!!

Sorry...not much help from me, an ultimate animal lover and one who is quickly acquiring quite the menagerie himself

Sorry, cant help talk you out of one :bgrin My daughter has a pom..Sassy is so darn cute...and you could have a whole house full of them compared to my 2 labs which weigh 135#s and my little Angel who is only 35#s. I say...if you want one, have quality time to spend with it, can afford it, go for it! SORRY--told you I wouldnt be able to help :bgrin Corinne

Sorry, I can't help either. I had gotten a pom that my sister in law could no longer keep and it was one of the best and smartest dogs I ever had. She passed away when she was 13 and I have always wanted anothre but my landlord, also my dad, would kick us out if I end up with any more animals. I have a chihuahua as well. You don't have to worry about chi pom crosses if they're fixed

. I'm a big help aren't I?

If you told mine to she would beg like Lassie but you had to say it that way "beg like Lassie", and she would dance, do a bow, and the best was play dead. You'd make a gun noise and she'd drop and roll over with her paws in the air. You have every other animal including sugar gliders I think you need a ferret too.

get it! get it!! hee hee  Sorry but I know you are good Mommy and I love Poms too!! I never could turn down a doggy either!!! :bgrin

You won't find me much help either.

HMMMM... OK....You really don't want one of those fuzzy adorable tiny guys for your own. Their tiny cold pointy nose and little black beady eyes will melt your heart. You will become a mushy good for nothing dog spoiler if you get one. DO NOT GET ONE

How was that?

Well, so you'll feel less guilty about it... Why don't you try a Pom rescue and give a home to a needy one, instead of going to a breeder. Just a thought.

C'mon they are adorable and you know you really really need one. :bgrin I love small dogs and that would be my pick if I ever get another one. So I guess I'm no help either, I agree with the rest of the gang-get one, get one, get one! And don't forget to post pics. :bgrin Glad we could be of help.

: Poms are so cute and are smart. They think they are full sized sled dogs that they were bred from. They are also as stubborn as a sled . And require a lot of grooming. `If you truly don't have much time this may not be the dog for you . They want and need a lot of attention. I have a good friend who has 2 and I like them well enough, but if I were looking for a small breed I would go with a Papplon or a minpin.

My SO would like you all to back away slowly from the computer!

: OMG I want one! I'm starting to fish around more seriously, but if Iam going to a breeder, I am going to be crazy about everything. My dog from the pound is a mess with his skin and all sorts of allegeries, which is why I find a puppy from a good breeder very appealing for the history factor.

I think I will look into rescue, though I'm a stickler about how my dogs are trained, there's got to be some kid out there right?? Who would get rid of one though?!?

Cronewolf, grooming is no problem, my big dog gets/needs constant grooming and attention, and it's a fun thing for both of us. Could you tell me more about their origins? I had no clue they were bred down from sled dogs. I love an intelligent breed, and the higher energy the better, I'm one of those to!

The Chi is Not fixed,

a fact we won't get into right now, but it's Not My Call, and as he's fenced in and can't go making more, I don't raise trouble with my parents. He's not agressive or bad about marking anymore, so they let things go for now.

: (I think my dad's a teensy bit partial to keep them intact as well.

: )

Good/bad/ugly about them, tell me their short comings as well, I'm having a hard time finding any!

When I volunteered at the SPCA we saw a few little poms come through.......mostly becuase of shedding/allegies issues.

I know a pom breeder who has a little tiny female adult available, only 4 1/2 lbs so too small to breed. She is lookign for a pet home only........very cute!

This lady breeds beautiful dogs!

Talk you out of one, eh? OK.

They aren't real intimidating LGDs.

Also, if you're ever stuck in a plane crash in the mountains, there ain't much meat on 'em.
